About theSAPINator

i'm a 49 year old, married mother of 4 girls, gramma of 5 boys...busy, busy but like to relax by drawing and trying to bring out the creative side of myself..i think it takes so much concentration that you can't think of anything else...at least it does for me. i started out on inklink and got this site information from others there. the friendliness aspect here helps loads, and also the feedback you get and you can give is very helpful and rewarding. watching the playback of drawings is extremely helpful to me since i'm just an "artist wanna-be" :) and last, but not least, the outstanding talent on here is unbelievable, and one can learn alot by watching how they take an idea from it's beginning to it's unbelievable end!

what ever your computer is protected by might be not liking this site because of the Flash player use. I think something with that also needs some use of the active X control. That tends to trip alerts from possible hijacking and trojan use VIA Explorer Browser.
At least that's what my reads on Mcafee and MSN, as well as Spybot was talking about.

Hi Sap! Nice to meet you, lol, ya, I am a 51 year old, with 4-g-kids and 3 children all of whom keep me quite busy. I used to love drawing here, it has some of the best people ever, I think it just got to the point where I felt I needed to spread my wings a bit and fly. I am drawing at several other sites that have a bit more complicated drawing applets but not as complicated as psp3 so I have been doing quite a bit at those sites, you are welcome to browse or join any of them, I have the links listed on my profile page, you can view any works there..I go by the same Starzshine where ever I go. I even have a Deviant account where I post most of my work from all the sites. I have a daughter, my youngest who is now living in Dallas, I see you are in Tx. Big state you could be anywhere, but I am planning on visiting her some time this year, I have another online friend who lives in Huston that we are planning on trying to hook up if it is feasible. Quite a drive between the two cities but we are going to try and make it work if at all possible, she has a son that had recently moved to Dallas, so it would be killing two birds with one stone. Well I thought I would take the time to thank you for your very nice message and spill a bit about me. I may be popping in from time to time to do a few pics for old times sake! Again thanks and don't be afraid to spread your wings and hang with others who started here and decided they got tired of the lagging and the slow page loads and the lost pics...and the list goes on, lol. Again, thanks and great to meet you, btw, my name is Terry ;-)

Thanks very much! The picture is of Jon Foreman, lead singer in my favorite band, Switchfoot. They wrot a song called 'Dirty Second Hands' (which has a rather deep meaning) and during their in-concert show, Jon has an act of grabing a symbol and bashing it like so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr_AXfyJkrk It may look a bit silly at first, but it's amazing when you can really hear the song, like so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiAAjePh_XM

The ceramic mosaic was perhaps to painful to keep. We carry memories that at times are better to dislodge from our existance than to keep them and have them be a trigger to a bad memory.. I think your a wonderful artist and what you accomplish now on sketchfu or privately at home on a drawing paper pad, is far beyond the comprehension of a so called teacher who lived back in the cave days....:))))

Hi ya SAPIN (still used to calling you Penny) ;-) I read all your comments to me, and I'm very appreciative of your support and extremely kind words. Thanks for noticing the original draw was mine on *An Ocean Spray Away*. I'm not sure why some (it seems like kids, moreso) tend to either draw on, or just collect other's pics. I'm guessing they enjoy being annoying (hehe), or unaware and just want to make a personal collection gallery of their faves by other artists (?) Whatever the reason, this programme allows it and it's something we can either ignore or get upset about, or both! ;-P I usually initial my work and sometimes I still see my signature 'L' on my pic in their gallery. Regardless, I appreciate you acknowledging it was mine and for giving me the recognition, not to mention the continuous cheers & encouragement on all my draws. Thank you my friend, L8* ;-D

Yes, I was in some kind of have to keep drawing mood yesterday. Today had to spend a lot of time on bebo. Kept getting msg that could not wait. A friend from England wants to come to Ky to visit me. She has MS. I HOPE THE MEDICS WILL SAY SHE CAN. It will be a miracle if they do. I have never met her face to face. I WANT TO DESPERATELY. We talk by phone on rare occassion. Talk everyday several times a day. Send gifts...we have a wonderful bond. I met her on ebay. I bought something from her. it got lost and that is how it all began. LOL I used to LOVE ROLLER SKATING. wE DID NOT HAVE ICE SKATING EITHER. I went with John once when we were dating. It was painful.:O My children went a few times. The road trip picture, is taken a lot from the background of the Jay Leno set. Pictures of cities and going through Cincinnati. You saw the road sign, didn't you?
TY fore your cheers and comments. I think I will pass on finishing my picture tonight. had another bebo friend who wanted to chat. Answered all my comments here I THINK. So I am saying goodnight my friend. BTW John has a sister who lives in Dallas. The other lives in Taos N.M. I have visited Dallas a few times and Taos once. Hot there in the summer. I am a country girl myself. Not rural, but small towns. Like the slow easy pace. Also safer places to live than larger cities. I have lived in Cincy. Family in Dayton and other small towns near by. Going up soon. Have to cross the Ohio River. Thus the bridge.:D Good night Sharon.

Not to worry. It has been many m many years. I don't let myself think about it . It is too painful to do. I was in the same vehicle. She was killed instantly. I still do not remember what happened at the scene. My mind has protected me from it. Many years after the accident...I had a picture similiar to seeing her in the body bag, that made me recall I say them taking her out of the ambulance at the hospital. It was horrible to remember it. Make me ill now. Too painful to recall.
BabsBlueEyes wrote (3 months ago)
I though it said to write the name of someone you love, who has dies. Then sign your name. My sister was Sharon/ She was killed in a car accident at 19 yrs of age. Victim of drinking and driving. Not her. The other vehicle.
I have a dear bebo friend who is named Sharon, and my favorite niece. She was named after my sister.

Sheesh! Don't think that I am 'ejumacated' either my friend. I may have studied history of art but after 4 months I got thrown out of college for having no artistic talent! Hehe. Just that Goya was one of the first artists we looked into. What I wrote was all I remembered. Dear Emi gives us all an education into different artists and she mimics the style of each so well. What a teacher we have in her. Seeya around, G.
StGeorgeOfEngland wrote (3 months ago)

HI hon! thank you so much for the thoughts for my daughter and i. we are feeling better, what a dreadful week it was. i know, as time goes on it gets better. i miss Lisa(our friend) popping in here with her little boy. he is such a little doll. only nine months old, it is just gutwrenching sometimes to think he will never know his mommie. the father is "who knows where" and unfortunately thats for the best as well. Lisa's mom is caring for the baby and is going to try to get total custody of him. the "father" and i use the word loosely, is on the run and the last they heard he was in jersey city. not likely to show his face around here, he is indian and is here illegally. he knows that Lisas family will turn him in....after the way he treated her and the baby when she FINALLY left him. they haven't gotten any results back yet from the autopsy, they told the family it may take weeks. such a sad situation. it's true what larvice wrote to me, there is a higher power and when it is our time to go, that's it. i do believe that but sometimes wonder why. life is so unfair sometimes. okay.....enough of that. i haven't been on here a whole lot this week...i am taking some computer classes and between that and running to drs. appts. it was a hectic week. i need to get back to work after being home the last 13 years. it is really hard. jobs are few and far between and i don't want to end up in a factory so i am taking classes in hopes of finding an office job. my old achey body would have a hard time in the factory scene. lol as it is we are living on support money from "the X" lol living in poverty basically. hahaha, that really isn't funny, is it? lol god, i need to shut up now. gotta get off my a** and get busy. thanks again for asking about us and thanks for listening to my ramblings... ;D hugs....lisa

you prompted me to write an explanation...should have done so in the first place so thankyou :). Im not sure if you will go back to see itthough so im copy/pasting it here for you
ANZAC Day stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corp
the 25th of April is our commerorative day to honour soldiers fallen or returned. It is held on this day because it the the date that 100's of our troops died heroicly at Gallipoli during WWI following flawed orders from their Brittish commanders. Anzac Spirit of bravery, mateship and sacrifice are honoured on this day. To my way of thinking it is THE most *Australian* day on our calendar. This is a copy of a photo taken last year as a dawn service in a town near here.

Hi! Thank you so much for the lovely comments. I can't begin to tell you where they come from...boredom perhaps and sometimes alot of lonliness. I really wish I didn't have to use a mouse, I would love to have a tablet, but I am poor as dirt, LOL and can't afford much of anything right now. LOL Once again, thank you so much for your cheers!

I'm very sorry because of this accident, I didn't want to copy your wonderful job. Actually, it was my little brother. He's only six, and he got to the computer, where he started klicking everywhere, and this was the result of it. I'm very sorry again, i've deleted your work.

haha yes - of course, you better not

just thought that if you react like this every time it happens you could save yourself and everyone lots of trouble

and if you do not appreciate or use this feature yourself you should really really consider some other pages since most of them are lots better than sketchfu (xcept for not having that add on feature)

Hi ya Sapin ;-) Unlike you, when I draw, I am listening to music...it really inspires me...but then again, I'm always listening to music (day & night) always 'plugged' in. I know alot that enjoy the solitude of just drawing & I guess that is what really makes us all differently creative & diverse. I don't think you know, since I haven't seen you in awhile, I'm spressie btw... ;-)

Don't panic! As far as I can tell Sketchfu is NOT going to implode - at least I hope not!
People are leaving because of the dreaded lag monster - and because Matt'n'Andrew (the owners) don't seem to care anymore. At Ginkgo there is a facility to upload your drawings (and photos) from here - or anywhere else. That's one of reasons I'm encouraging people to go there. Also, because it's small, we have an opportunity to maintain the wonderful community spirit we have been blessed with here.
- oh, and about the Futorials competition - I set up an account so we could put any handy hints or tutorial drawings. The contest was to find a profile pic for it. You can find it at:

aw, thanks for the post. i'm sorry that being so lonely is what brought you here, but yet i'm glad it did. i kinda know about the divorce thing and the empty nest thing.not in the same way as you, but i still know. i have 4 daughters and two of them have left home already, and i was soooo broken hearted. but now i babysit for one of them all the time and the other one, well..i get to see her a couple of times a year which isn't nearly enough, but it's better than never! i am glad that you found an outlet like this one for your feelings and talent...because your work is just beautiful..i really enjoy it...can't wait till the next one...thanks again!! :)

Hi! I am not quite sure where those draws come from to be honest with you. I have so much on my mind all the time, goin thru a divorce, taking care of my 79 year old mom, and going thru "the empty nest syndrome" lol
my daughter is 18 and is never home. she is my only one. Sitting here "doodling" like that kinda is a stress buster sometimes. Lonliness perhaps, boredom. Starting my life over at 46 has been a really hard thing and the friends I have met on here are "invaluable" seems like we all have our troubles and I think being here talking and drawing has helped me thru some pretty dark days. As for you "copying" them. Go for it! I wouldn't never feel that way anyway. Gerbear does REALLY beautiful ones as well. she hasn't been around much as of late. anyway, thank you very much for the wonderful comments. The pics get easier as you learn more about the different opacities and different things you can do. keep up the good work! the ones that you already did are beautiful!!! take it easy......hugs.....lisamm

now, i'm not sure what you are talking about...i was talking about downloading the tutorial on keyboard commands so that i could have them right in front of me so that i wouldn't forget one...what do you mean having to sign out as myself and back in as tutorials??
Tutorials wrote (5 months ago)
You don't have to put it on a disc - just draw it and I can put a copy on here - or I can give you the password and you can do it - let me know. It's very simple - just a bit tedious having to sign out as yourself and in again as Tutorials . . .
