conceptart.org has some instructional material on open canvas in the forums section. It might be worth checking out.

Well, you're welcome. I'm really interested in the 'warpaint' open canvas program you mentioned in my "McCurry Doodles"... I've been looking for that exact thing! I think simultaneous drawing would be really fun. It might take me awhile to get around to installing it-- I'm on an Ubuntu system and I need to install the Windows emulator first-- but I'll let you know when I do.
