"See, That's what I kept seeing. Who are they all? Friends? Enemies? Reflections of yourself? Who knows, but I keep going back to the original draw and seeing more and more. Fantastic."
"It's as if I just witnessed a Jackson Pollock form before my eyes! I see so much in this, faces, human forms, eyes, more faces, so much! If this were on canvas, I'd buy it! Wow!"
Thanks for the comment and the welcome message. I belong to 7-8 drawing websites already and found this last night. Whoa, I am going to be busy. i love your drawings by the way. You can see some of my better ones at http://www.floatingginkgo.com same username kutedymples. I really have to get used to these tools. Quite different than I am used to. But I love the site.
Haha, but it sure looks that way XD Yeah, but do you really need any practice? I mean, if you can paint THAT good on the computer it must mean you're some kind of super-artist person, right?
Have a wonderful day my friend!
wow what talent your family has! amazing pics the both of you! my mother was the artist in my family, but having 7 siblings it made for a hectic time for her to do her art, but after we all grew up she is finally doing her art art again, and she is a talent to be reckoned with I only wish that we had the use of computers when I was growing up and tablets what fun it would have been if we could have done our art together like you and your daughter! amazing. Though we do get to do some life drawing workshops together in the summer at a local community center. it is great to share our art, gifts, and talents among others who can appreciate what life has to offer us. I hope that she keeps with her art, and doesn't put on a back burner like I did for over 25 years to raise my family. I feel as though I missed out on so much and the time is lost for ever to me, along with countless pieces of art that could have been done...regrets...but it is a new day and I have to create! keep the masterpieces coming!
:) i followed your daughter's comment about your sudoku pic to her page so i guess she was your daughter :) you must be so proud of her!.My daughter puts here work on the deviantart site. she got the loins share of talent in our family.
I don't think he had hair with Brooke....He receded very early in life. This pic was when he was just a kid. I am not sure, but I think he went from all the hair to shaving his hair because his hairline was receding quickly. Just a secret....I have followed his career very closely, even if he is 15 or so years younger than I, I have always had a secret crush on Andre.....(and my husband does know about it!)
i just fin the mythbusters draw and it just popped it lol no need to thank me for the cheers i dont anymore more 2 many to thank lol .. it will get so hard to thank people you see.. lol
Your drawing of Duncan was really awesome....I wonder if he is really as mean as he looks!! "LOL"!! "Just kidding"...I bet he's really a pretty nice guy. Your artwork is just "amazing"!!
She's really great! I can feel the pencil touches in her drawings. It's nice to see an artist and his daughter that good in here. I agree, drawing with pencils is really fun.
*grins*
Wellllllll....
I drew at YouDraw for 4 years and here since this summer.
I have had many bears of various sorts drawn for me and i have kept them all on my hard drive. I am going to print them all out, like a montage and get it framed. I would love to have a Paddington for the collection *S*
BTW, your portraits here have inspired me to try some again. Tho I teach it, the eye hand coordination thing trips me up as I don't practice! Your work is really stellar!
It is how I run my art classes. I am always positive in my critiques. *S*
We have kind of run off those who make overly critical critiques. I only offer suggestions if the artist specifically asks for one *S* I feel that proud and happy feelings encourage artists, especially beginners, to make more art. And if I had my way, the entire world should be artists. less wars that way *S*
Very honoured to accept the friendship link...thank you, and for the cheers & comments you extend my way; not to mention "you" being impressed with "my" work? wow. ;-) Thanks much, L8*
Cool! They say that "North by Northwest" was completely story-boarded before it was filmed. What about the beginning of n by nw, where CG is abducted. Or when eva ms is inside the (chateau) "looking" for the "missing" earring) and you can see inside the house from the outside (think I'm remembering correctly). but there is SOMETHING in those two scenes. Have you seen "The Lady Vanishes" with Dame Mae Whitty Michael Redgrave and a heroine who played her last good girl role in this before becoming the queen of mean in British film. Just a couple of requests...:D. & no crop duster scenes, they make me cough!:)
Thank you mtd for your kind & encouraging comment on my "Come away..." draw. I see from your profile where you live, because I did wonder about the temps you were quoting. At the moment, in central Canada, we are at at -5C = but for some reason it's sort of mild out. On & off snowfalls. I really enjoy all our seasons, but there's nothing like a beautiful fresh snowfall that covers everything in that white blanket & when you drive between huge snowbanks their is a calm quietness like a soundproof room. Just the best! I admire both your's & your daughter's talent & again, appreciate your comment very much. (I'm also from youdraw as *A* and *A*-scapes) Both these sites are great places to draw at. L8*
Oh don't be shy! This place is so big that he might not spot it. He would be very happy to know people are still adding to the Goat Club!!
If you are too shy let me know, I am not shy at all *L*
Can you tell? *G*
You're welcome!
Haha, don't give it to her - her drawings will be way to good, both of you were amazing at using a laptop only, I can't fathom how great she'll be wiht a tablet. You are certainly brilliant.
I saw your icon on so many of my friends pics and profiles, came here and oh wow what amazing art you have created! Had to add you, I love to view wonderful art, it inspires me to create and I learn so much from others! Welcome! I know laura also, how wonderful her work is!
In YouDraw we commented under the pictures. I knew laura there a lil bit. Here they seem to answer under the profile tho I still am in the habit of answering under pictures! Learning to render in pen will force you to really see. Sometimes I make my students do that when they just are not paying attention to seeing well enough. Well, we are all immensely impressed with your work, glad you are here! :)
Hello,
through some other's comments i figured out I found a real family sharing thier art here at sketchfu....how wonderful is that. You have a very talented family.
Hi Youdraw.com is a drawing site with very simple tools, a thick and thin black pen and a thick and thin white pen/eraser. The area you can draw in is very small, but it has over 460,000 drawings so far. They are trying to collect 500,000 which will eventually be published. It was the first drawing site I really fell in love with. A lot of the recent artists here drew there first. I draw as Christine M-B there and have almost 12,000 drawings on it! Can be fun, and frustraiting too!
I am not sure Vincent would have liked sketchfu. He was so into the paint, I understand that he actually would eat the stuff, and he was poisoning himself in the process....could have been why he went crazy in the end. He lived and breathed and ate the stuff. What could he do with the computer....which is one reason I like drawing here....no mess to clean up.
I'm jealous! But, even when I do have enough set aside for a tablet, I won't be anywhere near your talent for a looooong time to come....lol. I still have a lot of basics to relearn and like my friend Gerbear, too much of a frustrated perfectionist to do much realism. Although, she can do it marvelously can't she? That was a another reason I quit drawing, quit trying for so many years.
I guess I'm finally just old enough to understand that my art is mine and it's my journey no matter where it takes me. It's still a creative outlet and an extension of me.
Maybe I'll learn a thing or two from your draws if I'm lucky.
Not really about the patience *L*
But I teach realistic portrait drawing in pencil and I have a great eye, so every time I see something wrong, I have to fix it!! That's why I hate drawing realism, it takes me forever because I am not happy until it is photorealistic !!! Most of my gallery is patterns and cartoons, more relaxing for me *L*
Cheers for the cheer on my 'snow birds' draw, mtd. Very encouraging & supportive from an artist, such as yourself. I can't believe you are using a touchpad either. Amazing results! Your painting in your avatar is great, & the title is perfect to illustrate the symbolism beautifully!
You are very welcome, I can't believe you can produce such amazing work with just a laptop! My work isn't as good as yours and I have a drawing tablet.
U R welcome mtdesigner.....I really love your artwork....you must be a professional artist, to be able to draw such amazing pictures. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your artwork.
Ha, I am jealous of the talent here! Tablet, who needs one with your talent! It took me months to do anything on your level! I am really not sure of the tablet. I think it is easier in some ways and harder in others. you can manuever easier, but the "feel" of it is a bit hard to get used to, I thought that I would be able to draw "steadier" but I haven't found that to be the case, it feels "slippery" when you use the pen and it is hard to control, but I guess with practice I may get used to the thing...my worst fears realized that I don't draw any better! lol! not that I expected Norman Rockwell or Michaegelo, mind you but just neater...too much of a perfection freak I guess...but hey I digress, love your work here and welcome aboard! hope you find as I have the great friendships that are here as well! Thanks and looking forward to more great art! starz/terry
I am an art teacher and artist, mostly colored pencil work for now.
I knew lalalaura from YouDraw. I was a 4 yr addict over there. Then I found this and drug a bunch of YouDrawers over here. We are a friendly supportive and funny bunch of people.
If you do get time to look in my gallery..well..I draw for relaxation. I teach drawing so doing realism feels like work to me. I mostly do patterns, bears, cards for people and communal drawings. I do have a Pavarotti and an elephant in there somewhere that faintly resemble reality! :) Anyhow GET THAT PAD! and have fun.
Welcome to Sketchfu. This site is highly addicting, both for the exposure of the art and the friendliness of its denizens. We do a lot of communal drawings here that are a lot of fun and sometimes the results are spectacular. Hope you don't mind, adding you as a friend so I won't miss your work. I'll be back soon to look at all of your art here. I have a Wacom graphire and have been very happy with it. the pad is probably 8"x10".
I actually noticed you because of your name. My email is jdesigner. I used to design jewelry.
Fantastic! Tablets take a while to get used to, but the difference they make in the long run is huge. If you've never used one just don't expect it to be like pencil and paper - it isn't!
Glad to know your entire family is enthusiastic about art by the way! Neither of my parents can draw, but both me and my brother draw constantly. I guess it isn't genetic then? :P
Comments for mtdesigner
Oh well..LOVE THEM!=)
can't wait to see more of your work! =]
Have a wonderful day my friend!
Yeah, it's the character "Ichigo" from the anime/manga "Bleach"
