About kutedymples

I have drawn all of my life and I paint portraits for families and a lot of childrens artwork for Baby Showers, Birthdays and what not.
Within the last 2 years I have started drawing on the computer. I have galleries across the World Wide Web and I will start posting some as I get around to it. I think some of my largest galleries are at Queeky.org, RMD and Floating Ginkgo. But if you are in search of some great drawing sites check them all out, I am sure you all have..but some of the Newbies might not know about them. Just please remember to be respectful and have fun! There is nothing a serious artist hates more than a Nasty Troll! :-(

Last for now, but certainly not least, 4 more Foreign sites: (I speak nothing but English, and if I can maneuver around on the sites anyone can do it. At Queeky they have a choice of German or English so you can get around the site with now problems if you know either of those two languages.

I do use babelfish translator and a Romanian Dictionary translator ~ http://www.dictionar.ro/ for figuring out stuff that I just can't do alone.

Your art is absolutely beautiful!
I'm an aspiring artist, but I'm not very good at realism.
That's why I find your work so inspirational!
Even though it's realism, it still has it's own little flair that makes it your own.
I really hope I can acheive that one day!

When I want more tools myself I just open up Photoshop, and you can always post that at sites such as deviantart for response and criticism. But I do prefer it to be simple and plain just as on SketchFu, that's what I really find fun! Here you have to do all the smudging yourself, and you have to think about how things are above or underneath others, you have to plan ahead, since you don't have such things as layers =)
Never visited Queeky though, might be charming as well!

I'd love to see more from you as well! My inspiration has hit rock bottom soon, so I reckon that it can't go anywhere but up, hopefully. ^^

I'm glad you think so! ^_^ I guess I just think in shapes... Circles are probably the first thing you learn to see in objects whether you know it or not. :) I guess that must be why I'm so bad at drawing plants - their shapes are more random than I'm used to.

Hi kd...thanks very much again, for your generous cheers and great comments. I forgot to answer a question you asked re: any outside artistic endeavours. No, I only draw here online (and youdraw). I drew two quick pencil sketches just this year and painted one acrylic canvas with simple blossoms for someone's new apt. Up until then, I have never really drawn since grade school and now draw online to relax...but as my profile reads, I am / always have / been a great lover of art and artists! ;-) ~L8*

...and to answer your questions: I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, but I have not done much of anything in the last 10-15 years or so for whatever reason.

I took some art classes in college and high school but really never applied myself like I should have. I always found when I would be forced/assigned to draw it was no fun, but once I got going it always came pretty easy. I don't consider myself a trained artist, rather I draw by ear, err eye.

I'm back to drawing for fun now, and what's great about this place is the community, the feedback and interaction with other artists such as yourself, it's motivational and keeps it interesting.

If it was just me drawing I don't think I would do much passed doodling in the margins during meetings at work. I guess I forgot how much fun it can be.

Hey kutedymples, thank you so much for your comment on my necklace....opals are a favorite, my hubby gave me an opal ring, 2x I lost the stone & it had to be replaced....the jeweler said opals are soft stones & can't be set too tightly as the stone would crack...guess they were set too loosly which is why I lost them. Being in a ring, it got knocked around too much, having it in a necklace makes more sense. I've added you as a friend as I just went through some of your gallery & it is wonderul....I'm going back to continue the tour! Your work is lovely!

Hi Susie, Isn't it just great to have the old gang back at SF. I am so happy. Cannot wait for more new features of a completely new sight. I told them when I spoke with them...please a choice of appelets and canvas size. They added the delete to comments, now I want edit. Me and my typos! Is Isiah still with you? Dillon and his mom are here now. She has custody of him now. I can be a grandma. She will be the Mommy now. It is wonderful. She cooks, cleans, and buzzes around constantly. thanks! I am just a worrier lol about everything! The owner of the bookstore where the camp is found me a lil kids book called Mr. Worry and gave it to me on Friday, ..I hung it up on our wall!!! I have a million flower pics I took with my digital camera over the last 12 yrs and will eventually start drawing from them. And bird pictures. And water pictures lol I need a second lifetime!!

Get tired of your art? Not likely....lol. Actually, I'm not around here that much these days as I'm still concentrating on my colored pencil work. But, I haven't been able to make myself draw anything in a couple of days, so, I thought if at least started a draw here I could get the art "juices" flowin' again.

Great to hear the hubby's doin' better and I'll try and be better about checking in here over the summer.

Oh, did you answer the Sketchfu questionnaire (highlighted in the green box on the front page)? That's how I finally got to speak with Andrew; he wants to pick our brains to see what we want. Nice kid! A week later I talked to Matt (Humphrey), one of his cohorts who's helping him and Matt with the new site. (There's another guy named Ben who helped iron out some of the tech problems here). Busy place! :D

My understanding is that they're thinking in terms of a free draw program (so you'll get what you've already got here, for better or worse) and perhaps a paid subscribership option for those of us who want more control and more security. They're also talking about being able to market our work online, maybe greeting cards, on mugs, posters ... that kind of thing. They're still batting ideas around about that.

Last time I asked Andrew about that he said it would be "months" before the Super FU got going. So ... who knows? Maybe we'll get it for Christmas! Like you, KD, I am so thrilled just to be able to draw and view here without the insufferable lagging and exploding draws and the rest of the torture we dealt with for a year :P And you just know with the new 'n improved version will come a TROLL FREE ZONE .... *and the crowd goes WIIIILD!!!!* If they want a Moderator for the kiddie pool there ... IT WON'T BE ME! Ha!

Thanks, hon! I hope when we finally get FU 2.0, we have more sophisticated tools on the order of, say, ChibiPaint .... those skin tones are difficult, especially working with a mouse. Ugh. Watercolor and airbrush, dodge and burn would be fabulous. But it's still fun :) FU is fun! Well, trolls aside :P

I had one say, I can't believe someone as old as you has the patience to draw for such a long period of time. LOL I told her my age is what made it that way.I had one girl tell me she was so jealous of me. :O bWell anything I have been able to draw is due to effort and watching others. You know that. I said "you can do it to"! Told her how I learned...they want a magic wand, waved over them, I think!!! We will definetly stick together Susie. :D

Hey, I didn't even see the other comments, until I was writing. She has nerve after all those comments left. I had a teen the other day, on my friends list steal a WIP. LOL. I told meno and said I am forgetting it it was a three color challange, and no big whoop. Meno said they are diabolical. Kids have no respect as we know. I had one tell me a portraite I did was wierd and it was a nice try. She draws like a kindergartener. I leave them to their own unless in a case like this. Somethings JUST HAVE TO BE DEALT WITH!!!! You know how it is, pick your battles. Delighted to join forces in this one. Hugs back!

Somehow I always try to be satisfied with where I aim but always aim higher, since there's no harm in it. But I guess that's what makes us human beings keep going all the time.. we're never satisfied, we always want to improve and whenever you reach a goal you make up another one!

There's not really an end to it, and I do not believe that there will ever be one ^^

If you're satisfied with drawing flowers then you should keep doing so =) If not then there's all the time in the world to practice. No need to rush, just have to be patient ^^

About more addictions lol..thanks but no thanks!! I won't even go to any other drawing site except to take a peek, I can barely handle FU and that was before i actually was supposed to mod stuff. I drew at YouDraw for 3 yrs and came here when i found it. I drew at 2draw before I came here and loved the applets and disliked the atmosphere. Some nice people there for sure but some not nice ones too and they are vocal, or were. I looked into FG but somehow with the diff studios it felt like judging again to me. I think judging is stupid. The experienced artists are experienced artists, the beginners are beginners, the determined improve, the dabblers don't. What else is there to know or classify? What might be a magnificent draw out of a beginner might look like crap to the inexperienced viewer. I hate judging, can you tell lol
anyhow thanks, after camp is over i will ck out the sites on your profile I have not even heard of some of them!!!! Thanks for the attention!! Much appreciated!

With all the art sites out there, none has ever captured the sheer goofiness of FU and I think everyone has missed that ... I know I did! :D It sure is good to see artists like you come back ... does the ol' heart good ;)

thanks Kute, yes, not long after I drew the Memorial Day pic, we went immediately to the party and I toppled before any drinks OR any food. I went w/o food for two days, but weighed in this morn and have gained 10 pounds, hoping it is the water weight from all the swelling, take care hun.

That's good news! There are still a few kinks left to be worked out (the longer draws cause some computers ... like mine ... to freeze up!) but it sure is better than it was. So good to see you drawing here again :)
