"I see you were able to finish Horton here. It is interesting to compare the SketchFu and 2draw drawings. Both are amazing. I hope I can see the movie."
Hi jp. Thanks for the cheers and the comment. I hope you don't mind if I add you on to my list of friends. I had a chance to viewed some of your drawings and wow! You're absolutely gifted with mad drawing skillz. Hope to see some more excellent piece from you in the future. Thanks again.
jp, I have had an account on 2draw since august, and have not done any work there as of yet. I see that you have quite a few drawings there and they are fantastic, I know it seems as though the program is a bit more complicated, and I am not too sure of them. I was wondering if there was any sort of tutorial for the programs that they have there. I can't seem to make any headway to understanding the layering and the various tools. I also would like to know how to set my pen tabs as you have them. I did read your post to me and I bellieve that you have the intous 6x8 as I do...I am not real computer savy but I did manage to set the pressure so that it doesn't feel like my pen is sliding all over the place, helped alot. If you have the time I would so love to learn a few tips if you would...I will give you my email on my profile and then take it off, just let me know if there is a time that is good for you,(we are both on the same time zone-eastern) I will understand if you are busy, but I would really like the chance to learn and work on 2 draw...any help would be appreciated! :D starz/terry
Thanks for the comment and cheers, ill have to get one of them pens!see if i can draw a bit quicker lol.p.s your drawings are amazing!I'm not jealous......honest.
Merry Christmas, hoping that your holiday was filled with love and joy, thanking you for the wonderful friendship here at sketchfu, and the inspiration you bring to one and all! May your year to come be filled with blessings and joy, sending luv your way, starzshine/terry
Realizing it's a busy time of year but missing your draws! I hope you'll double the contribution after the new year (haha...just kidding) Merry Christmas & thank you for being such an inspiration to myself & obviously so many here at SFU! L8*
Thanks jpjp! that was my simple intention and your comment is so appereciated! I think the simplicity may encourahe and as you applauded maybe someone will find a great composition through a sinple ide or rendering! Thank you for a valuable comment that may inspire others!
Thanks jpjp. This is actually a view going to work on the East West Connector. When I saw the pink clouds the other morning, it became a Sketchfu project.
Sorry it has taken me so long to say this, but thank you for the compliment! Allow me to do the same... GREAT STUFF! Please feel free to check on my drawings from time to time, they're always evolving ;)

I play on poker stars, nlop, ultimate bet,vp247, and used to play on full tilt, but hate that one it is home of the bad beats, lol, never played on bodog though, mostly on pokerstars, like the program format there and they have a lot of freerolls that get me into money games with out having to spend money! lol. I am starzshine there, lol, go figure hah. play a lot of omaha, and stud, razz, they are my favs, but I like a good game of hold'em once and a while if the cards are good to me...lol
Thanks for the compliment on my 2draw stuff. There, as here, you have seen I have trouble staying focused and drawing more serious subjects *L* I do like my anime pic, the nude, the apple and fish drawn in a colored pencil style. The rest was fooling around, trying different tools out and styles. If i would ever settle down to a single style I would probably be a fairly good artist, but I just love playing so much *grin* That is the reason that I left 2draw. These online sites are also a social outlet for me as I only work full time in the. Most of the folks there are all serious and they have contests and are very competitive. As an art teacher I do not feel that competition is conducive to good art, it is only conducive to insecure artists or artists with over inflated egos. The need to excel needs to spring form within, not external social forces. So I much prefer the FUn communal atmosphere here. But the tools there are fantastic, I may still draw there form time to time. I hope you have met Deadly Blonde archer, she is one great artist and a lovely person (from Texas like me!). I will keep an eye out from new workroyou over there now and then.
ur welcome and how could ANYONE NOT like ur art??... i mean ur just one of those ppl that are naturals, i can tell that u have such pasion for art, i can see it through ur drawings and im glad ur sharing them with us here in sketchfu:)
OMG< U R the greatest artist! Your work is amazing and u are also a Ga native, thanks so much for taking a look at my work, a failure in comparison to your huge talent. Hope you don't mind if I ad you as a friend, your work is amazing!
Wow, I'd have to say you are one of the best artists here, do you have a website or DA account, or do you confine your artistic ability to Sketchfu? :P
hello! just wanted to tell you that I admire you a lot not only because you draw really good but because you have patience and you seems to be very observant of details. Plus you just know what to do to make your art look so real:)..OH and its kinda interestin that ur first and ur last pic are are both of scare crows....what a coincidence:)
ok keep on drawin-i luv to watch u work....have a nice day:D
just stopping by to comment on your gallery.... I see EC has already kinda said what I was going to.... about your gallery being one of the most consistent on sketch-fu! Your stuff really has a warm feel to it and I quite enjoy your contribution even if you dont hear from me much.
what you do with all your pics? just leave them on here?
You have been Gerbeared!! I finally got to catch up on your stellar gallery! I echo what EC said. Also thanks for your cheers, always means a lot especially considering the source!!
Tonite I happened to go through your entire gallery (viewing the thumbnails) page by page. I noticed something very profound about it: its extremely neat...every painting you did is bold and has a rather 'objective' feel to it. It was as though I was flipping pages of an album; each subject was solidly painted and there was a consistency from one painting to another where I could actually see and appreciate your own unique style. I have to say that it was a treat!!! I'm inclined to believe that in real life you are every bit as organized and methodical in your endeavors as your art seems to imply. When I view my own collection, I can see the mishmash of styles, inconsistencies in rendering, poor or questionable choices of subjects, etc. It seems to mirror my real life...almost to the point that my personal mantra should be something like: "Ha! If it aint one thing...its another" hehe. I'd like to think that I learned something valuable from your designs and quite possibly your philosophy or approach to creating paintings. Also, thank you for all your kind words and many cheers!!!
Cheers for the Many Cheers, jpjp!! Feels like I'm stuttering ;-) I really, really enjoy watching you perfect each drawing and the subjects you chose to draw! There is only one that I can't say that I like, although it IS beautifully drawn...your gnome. haha...sorry, I just don't like gnomes <;-{P>>>
Thanks for the thanks for the cheers but want to make a deal...since it is so time consuming to respond to everything on this site...lets only cheer one another and know we appreciate the cheers? Deal?
I love Texas Hold-em. But I have never played it in Vegas. I am not much of a gambler with REAL $. We have had some parties at our home...Texas Hold-em. I usually put a few $ into the machines and go to shows and shop...Whimpy eh?
ok jpjp1052 ..., I came, I saw and loved all your stuff - I'm adding you as a friend... LOL hope you don't mind... you really do have fantastic art... :)))
Hi jpjp...Thank you very much for the multiple cheers, comments & the friend add. All is appreciated very much & I'm truly honoured! Your eclectic gallery is amazing!
HEY JP, oops had the caps lock on lol, wanted to stop by and say thanks for the cheers and comments, it means so much that you take the time and do so.. love your work you know that! I just take too much time to get caught up here, so I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you! :>
I have one really bad habit *laughing* When i find an artist that is immensely talented (in my opinion), I tend to let them know beyond a shadow of a doubt and try to encourage them (no matter what the age...I teach from elementary thru the senior 65+ population) to take their art seriously. anyone can learn to draw and paint. i teach drawing and can literally teach anyone to draw realistically. but there are those who do have a "gift" that goes beyond what a teacher can bring. I try not to have favorites I love and respect all the work and artists here, but sometimes i have to speak out. You have a true gift. You are a natural with color, your portraits (anatomy, proportions) are dead on correct. but most importantly, you bring YOU to the subject with your painterly impression of the subject matter. I hope you really enjoy the artmaking process and your results and continue to grace this site with lots more of your art! :)
You're welcome, and Wow, i just read with ger wrote!! Of course in my expert opinion you are the greatest...and i truly mean it! What do you do with your art? It's magnificent work.
Thank you so much for your concern, and that is probabally why I love it here so much.....I loose myself in the site and the drawing. Maybe that is not such a good thing either????!!!!??? Anyway, I love your art!
You could have fooled me jpjp. i know a lot about art, my parents re both artists too, so it is really all I know *laughing* The truth is, I was POSITIVE that you were a professional artist and painter! I have a very good "eye" from teaching and critiquing for the last 18 yrs and you work is perfect. but becAuse of your painterly style, it moves beyond purely academically perfect into artistically perfect. I am very supportive of everyone, we all reach our own levels of excellence and effort. And i respect that, no matter what the level it is the effort that counted. But to be frank, some levels are WAY higher than others and you are off the chart. Your work should be in a gallery and I certainly hope that you sell your work. You are a much better artist at this point than I am. I spend my time teaching and not painting and drawing and if you don't use it, you lose it (like any other activity)!! Anyhow, I totally enjoy your art and look forward to more!!
Thank you so much for your comment on my capricorn goat. A compliment from an artist of your caliber is very meaningful. I have an Astrology colored pencil series I got paid to do several yrs ago, but slipped a disc and never went back to it. The style was that odd mixture of almost realism and flat, almost 2 dimensional graphics. I think it might be fairly original, i don't recall having seen it in any of my art wanderings, which is considerable! :) So I never am sure how people will react to something new. Again, thank you for nice comment.
Canvas paper!!?? I want it!..I've never seen it, where did you buy it? I've printed out cards on card stock but I really want to try that canvas paper. I also have been looking at t-shirt transfers to print on. Mostly I take my stuff into printshop and fool around with it. Someone asked me to make tiles for them, so I was wondering about the transfers on that. Trial and error I suppose. Let me know about the canvas, that's exciting! ;D
Yeah, the redo button has caused some harm earlier, so I quit using it.. Was just replaying soapy after drawing and suddenly a big white area bumped up, even though I had made that part greenish.. :D well, it was still erasable.
Anyways, thanks so much! :>
Yes, you are so right. I don't think I quite captured her though. She had a "hard" side to her and was a little thicker in the face, but I putzed and putzed and finally gave up!!
Thank you for the nice message. Enjoying your art. If I don't message back timely for cheers it's because I can't keep up and don't think I'm not loving it. ;)........just read centaur's message, ><... omgosh is that happening often and if claimed by others isn't there a way to tell the original artist?
Yes, that does sound like a good suggestion. If you feel that it might help, I can request him to do the same. I have two drawings that have been claimed by others: my owl drawing and my fox drawing. It is really frustrating, especially if those people are credited (ie. commented and cheered) for your own work. I hope we get that capability soon. Thanks for writing to me. I knew that others had that problem, I just didn't know that you did also. It's really low for people to take credit for others' work and I hope we can change that soon.
Cool, I too was enjoying your art work a few min. ago. I find it so amazing what some of these artists can do. I am sooo green with envy. You guys make it look so easy.
Another odd thing about this is....a lady from Bebo pointed out my mistake. I had to go check it out on line. When I finally found one that would tell me the correct artist, the picture was much more vivid than the one I used to draw from. It is coincidence that I messed it up also. In my ever aging brain, I wanted to do this pic but was not finding it under a Chagall Image Google search. So, as I remembered it I goodled Blue Horses Chagall and it was right there. As is turns out, Franz Marc is a writer/painter and was heavily influenced by Marc Chagall. How ironic, they are so close and my memory was that it was chagall who painted.....think that is why I never did so well in Art History classes???
Oh, thanks, I was thinking I would lose the cheers and views...you are such a wonderful help. Hubby is getting me something on Ebay, he used all of everyone's comments to make a decision for me. My BD is not until Dec. but he said he can't wait that long so should get it soon. Thanks again.
Hello again...I am such a pest...is there a way to find someone on this site besides going through each and every member. He gave me his name on here but I do not see a search. IntotheMystic is his name.
Hi again...ok, the hubby is getting serious about finding me a tablet. Do you have a recommendation on the size that would be best. I am goint to email around and see what works best. I figured ppl who use it would be the best references. Thanks!!
hey.. i didn't dare cheering one of your drawings because i would have had to cheer them all and umm.. i don't know.. would have been a little annoying maybe.. so just let me tell you: i'm stunned by your drawings and i wish i could draw like that!! :)

Yes, I am still in the dark ages with the mouse. My husband mentioned that maybe he should get me a pad. We shall see. And I will start deleting if I can't finish it in one sitting, from now on. Thanks for the advice. On our profile, do these comments stay here forever? The list must tend to get incredibally long, I would imagine. Any way to dlete them?
Mine is a stupidly selfish reason for wanting it to save w/o publishing. If folks put cheers and comments on your unfinished pic, and then you continue on another page, the cheers and comments for that pic are lost to the unfinished work, cause I like to delete the unfinished one. Oh well....maybe they will fix. Thanks so much for getting back to me on that!!
*blush* Thanks so much for your comment and cheer! Your words really made me smile. It means a lot to me, especially coming from such a fantastic artist. :)
I feel the same, especially about the ppl here. I drew on 2draw for a while, but didn't like that community as much as this one. YouDraw is great, hard but great, and th eppl are fantstic but i am tired of black and white.
now hold on a second! never pleased?Believe me, I was nothing but pleased about that picture: one of the best on the site! I just believe there's always, no matter what, room for improvement, however slight. You notice I gave it a 10 out of 10, didn't you?
