About gerbear

Thank you to those of you who posted my site on your profile. My site is now showing up on page 2-3 on Google!! We have only been up for less than 2 months.

Hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

I am an artist/art teacher from Houston, Texas. I Have been drawing online for about 5 years. I drew literally thousands of drawings at YouDraw. Here are my main 2 gallery links, but I have drawings in many communal galleries too.
http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/recent.pl?artist=gerry+the+art+teacher&rows=1&x=11&y=7
http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/recent.pl?artist=gerbear&rows=1&x=32&y=8

I have a small gallery but with some work I like here at 2Draw:
http://2draw.net/users/gerbear/gallery/

I am trying to learn Photoshop, I have been using Paint Shop Pro for years. I like drawing online for the feedback, friendships and the UNDO function *L* That saves LOTSA time!! Online drawing is a great way to try out ideas, no matter how odd.

I hope you enjoy your stay here, I certainly have!

Oh, and please, don't just steal my drawings. If you want to remix one, by putting real art over it or with it, fine, but don't just erase my name and call it yours. Thanks.

thanks :3
yea, but you can decline their friend request
can you shut up about your frog? it's a picture fgs.. its not harming anyone is it? NOO! soo can yo just shut up about it.. ban my account because tbh, your pathetic, and you DO NOT deserve to me a moderater jesus. --
Wow nice to have all three moderater as freinds
just Arna Dögg is fine. I feel honored to know of a drawing of mine in a collection :D I also have a big collection of all kinds of key chains, tourism novelties and handmade.
Shhhhh don't bring up whipped cream around G, he might get some funny ideas for when I'm over there, hahaha.
Hi Gerbear, thanks so much for all your wonderful comments on my pics. I appreciate & value your opinion so much. With all you have to do & how busy your camp keeps you, it means all that much more! LU....
as long you include my name with the walrus you are welcome to use it :)
Thanks again for all the cheers and comments! XD
yeah...it's really annoying indeed
I noticed that after I made my comment, doh, should have deleted it and started over, sorry.
Well ok but i warned them they will be reported if they didnt delete it but here is the link http://sketchfu.com/profile/TinkBriana
Ok i didnt argue with the person that copied my art this time. i gave them 2 warnings. But they did not respond in any manner. so i will report to you. and TinkBriana not only copied my drawing but named it "I drew this dude" and put their signature on it and it got 2 cheers.
so may you ban him/her? P.S. i was told i am mature do you think so?
Hi and thanks for your kind comments on a couple of my recent drawings. Also appreciate you moderating and clearing up problems so promptly. As an aside on the drawing of Farrah -- She's originally from Corpus Christi. My ex-husband went to high school with her. Corpus turns out some beautiful people...Farrah, Eva Longoria, Lou Diamond Phillips and the late singer Selena. Must be the water!!
I learned about it a few minutes after it was confirmed during my piano lesson. My teacher’s husband came downstairs and let us know in his heavy Russian accent, “Michael Jackson is dead”. Loooong silence. Reality always hits hardest the ones who seem so immortal.
Thanks for your comments and the answer. Actually İ don't use mousekey or any other tool for those straight lines. That's why it takes about five hours or much to complete the drawings. İ think İ'm a little bit patient. İ'm glad that you like my drawings.
Not sure how I came to it. Started with that cool Voldemort draw on here and made me think about "the scottish play" curse. But actually Macbeth is only bad luck to say when you're in a theater, especially a working actor in the theater. My improv troupe and play co-horts, we would say it all the time in the theater. lol. Actors, like atheletes can be so superstitious at times.
My mom is the same age as he was...so she also remembers a lot about him. :) When I was little, all I listened to was the 'oldies' station, and his kid songs were often on there. Some of my favorites, actually.

Take a good rest, Gerbear. ^_^ Our hard-working mods deserve all the rest they can get. Don't rush, Michael isn't going anywhere. However inappropriate and depressing that sounds, I think I can say it with a little smile on my face. Why is it always the last person on earth that you'd ever suspect that goes? It never fails.
Thanks so much for all your lovely cheers and comments Gerbear! It boosts my confidence to be praised by an art teacher!! lol :D
Thanks for your supportive comments. I can not speak English. My husband (sideman) translates these for me. You have mentionet something like (mousekey). Could you please tell me what it is? Thanks in advance..
Well thats cleaver writing there :P!
I understand!
Hi Gerry & many thanks for visiting my gallery yesterday and all your cheers and interesting comments! How is camp going? It definitely sounds like you don't have time to moderate - I think that should be a paid job anyway! Like you, my spouse and I are working way too hard and way WAY too long hours - but when we're done with the grueling days and nights, we've brought a player piano back to life (even if it may require fine-tuning further along) --- and when you're done with the basics you've no doubt nurtured your glorious love of art in the hearts of some of the "little people"! As Kbofu said, just seeing your work makes one want to draw!!!
thanks for the comment! Im gonna go to ut. I strongly (maybe obsessively) follow their football and their basketball. They werent too hot in basketball :( are you a strong supporter of them?
thanks so much for stopping by and all the c 'n c's --- you have such a perky positive persona about you that i just want to draw when i see your work :)
Thank you so much for the cheers and comments..I was really glad..
Geri, if that's how you feel all day, then you're working way too hard. Take it easy, & take care of yourself! PLEASE!!!!
Hey Ger, I'm telling you I'd never seen anything quite like it...."weather" amazes me....Love the show "storm chasers" Would love to do that, but I'd probably be scared to death. I just wanted to sto my car & get some good pictures....I always have my camera with me. I did get a couple of the rainbow, but my camera isn't "strong" enough & didn't capture the acual beauty of it....
yeah that was him and yes i will report, you got my word
thank you.
I would like it if he was banned cause i dont want my little sister to see what he does
Some nasty guy got back on and hes ruining peoples pics again

http://sketchfu.com/profile/HeilHitler
why can't we log out of sketchfu anymore? Or am I just blind.
just one question why did you say are you ready to get banned?
Thanks for the c+c on my seashell pic, much appreciated!! :)
why?
fu mod squad said that he wanted to put that picture out on the homepage every week. I just wanted to help. I really don't understand why you want me banned. I was just trying to help. I deleted the drawing you wanted me to delete.
Hi Gerbear! Just wanted to thank you for making Sketchfu a better place by helping us with our problems! You are a great person!
Thank you for your comments and cheers! :)
np,and thanks i'll tell them :3
Your comments and cheers are always appreciated and they keep me trying to improve on my sketches. Thank you so much. I hope that you are feeling better.
*waves back, enthusiastically!*

What up what are u doing on sketchfu?
not suprising after all the intricate detail in the mandalla
THanks Gerbear! sorry to hear about the bad back but glad to hear you are busy. elliot
Awww.....feel better soon! I'll be thinking about ya'!

Gentle hugs!
i don't understand? i added a blue marble though.
Hi and thanks much. Hope camp is going well. I think I learned my lesson on maudlin clowns in a community draw, lol. My communal "dark" clown brought it to a screechng halt. ahaa. In my head I had pictured this draw a bit differently, I might have to try again at some time. My first paid acting job was at WGN in Chicago and by chance got to meet both Bozo (Bob Bell( and Cookie (Roy Brown) I have to say Roy Brown has always been my favorite. He designed and did puppetry on several WGN shows (including Cuddely Dudley( as well as Cookie and was glad to hear he also made the Clown Hall of Fame. But much like musicians with Les Paul and Muddy Waters, all successful clown owe so much to Emmett Kelly.
Thought I would check in on you and see how your school is going? Miss you being around more! A bear hug for you!
Thankyou for the lovely cheers and comments! Especially on my "Hope there are no waterfalls" pic, means alot coming from the bear expert :0)
Thanks again!

Thnx for the comment and cheers! ^-^
i want u to moderate someone :'(
damarian call'd me a bad word!
sorry I called you mean. I was just mad.
Thanks! =D
Hello Ger, I fully intend finishing the drawing because it has been in my mind for a long time now. It is from a photograph that has special meaning to me because it is one of the first places I visited with my lady love a couple of years ago. I was listening to music a few weeks ago and the track, Dove Grey Sand rekindled the memory. I will post a link to the song too when it is complete.
I set myself a challenge because it is the most optimistic thing I will have drawn. Usually I knock out a sketch in little time before boredom stes in but with this one I feel it may take a while. I need to discipline myself to make the best I can of it and finish it, if only for the meaning behind it.
A season at art camp would help me along a treat. Hehe.
G.
Thanks for the comment and cheers on my creation piccy!
Thank you so much.
Well, I got nervous it wasn't good enough- but here it is back temporarily! Just was doodling and thinking about how happy I am that you're off to such a good start - you know, people who run their own businesses deserve - and need! - all the moral support we can get!
what happens if you get banned?
My dear friend. You overwhelm ne with your word. You are the one who first made me welcome here. I drew a sad rose, and did not return for about a month. In that time, you friended me and made me feel like I could belong here. As time went on you offered tips and I followed. Your presence on SF has most definetly had a strong influence on what it is today, community wise. Your praise and support make wannabie artists like myself, feel like "Yes I will try"! I have done that. I have learned so much here. I love all it is about...still hoping for more drawing appelets. LOL
Your support through my "Good, Bad, and the Ugly" has meant everything to me. Meno, Fuzzy, Christine, and many others, have shown me gteat support and love. Thanks for all you have taught me. I hope to be able to apply the information and add to it. YOU ARE A GREAT ART TEACHER. Lucky me to be one of your students. I am thrilled to be here with the creative and inspiring folks Bless you always Gerry. I am so happy to call you my friend. L~Babs
s
i agree
Thanks for the comments and cheers!
I left the saying to be up to your imagination, thanks again. :)
ur welcome! :3
all is I did was make a few changes to the drawings I didn't change a lot.
What an eye, Geri, you're right about my wolves....It was a print on a tee shirt from my Southwest Indian Foundation catalog....there are so many things in that catalog I'd love to draw. Some are so involved that I feel I wouldn't do them justice! But every once in a while I give it a shot. I'd also like to give a BIG TY to you for all your time spent C&C'ing on not only my but everyones draws....you are an amazing lady. I love you for caring so much. Like I said to Meno, I'd love for you to live closer, I know we'd be great buddies. We still are but a shorter distance would be nice! LU, Ger....
Hello! Thanks a lot for the cheers and comments. I am glad u like my drawings! :)
hey :D i have three thankyous to give you...
thanks for the cheers and thanks for the lovely comments, i appreciate it and i'm glad you like my recent pictures, i never draw people and its one of my biggest weaknesses, so its really good to have so much positive feed back! thanks again :)

Haha, yeah, hopefully. From what I can tell their dates had duct tape tuxes, too.
Man, I bet those were some sticky outfits o_O
Wowww, those duct tape dresses are surprisingly awesome! x3
Thanks Ger for the nice comment about the photos, my mind goes 90 miles a minute and the photos really help to calm my soul I guess, well at least when I don't have time to doodle!
now cut that out, I am blushing.
There's a duct tape site? That's awesome, I'll have to check that out sometime xD
Thanks for your comments and cheers, and by the way that was funny! I just keep adding layer upon layer of different colors. Some coordinating and some surprise ones. LOL I love color!
Glad you enjoyed Gadzooks Ger. I have not had time or motivation to draw for ages. but this popped into my head and i needed some stress busting and this worked a treat.Im not sure when the next one will happen though as it is report writing time so im overly busy again. It wont stop me from watching the draws of others though so i will stillbe around :)
please that would be a great help if you did
You had courage for sure. If I helped in the smallest way, I am honored. Thanks for the Cs and Cs. The portraite was wanting for your stamp of approval. Thanks for all the support, and THE ART LESSONS. FABULOUS! GLAD YOU THINK I AM A FAST LEARNER. HUGS
It is going to zoom to the stars. Wow, This party ideas, another branch of income. I am truly delighted for you!!! The age group sounds fun. With all your experience and credintels you will tear up jack. Once again you so deserve this. Hard work, honesty, talent, and your personality are valuable assets. You go GF! Hugs a million!
hi, i'm imformed that you are a moderater so i really need your help. can you tell michelemarieyoung (the user in this website like u and me, she is on my friend list) how to change her password because hers is really hard to remember.
BONSAI is very delicate plants.
I can't grow them(^-^;)

There are many cherry trees near my house.
They are so beautiful!
I'll take their pictures for you.
It is necessary to look forward to April next year!

Japanese beach isn't good.
The most beautiful beach in Japan is OKINAWA.(maybe)
I have never been to there.
But I often heard "OKINAWA is wonderful place in Japan!".
I have a reason why I don't go there.
Because I dislike hot weather(T-T)
So I can recommend HOKKAIDO.
Do you know there?
you're the graetest drawerer ever!!!!! i love u!!! i mean youre drawinz
but i still love them!!!
i like the hot-dog even thow hot-dogs are just the leftover parts(you know what i mean) of a pig(or acotionally anothe random animal sometimes even raccoon!) wraped in the same animals (hopefully) INTESTINES! gross right?!
well i guess they shouldent waist it...
Oops sorry about that ^^' I changed it. I've been a member for quite a while and the last thing I'd want to do was mess it up because of the title haha but thanks for warning me. :)
thnx for the cheers and comment! ^-^
Great that everything turned out so well. I'm planning on letting the drawing be, if that's OK with you.
thanks!I really appreaciate it!
lol! they'll have enough to eat.
aww man, that means i cant come to your camp for two reasons and i really wanted to. 1: i live in Lithonia, Georgia and 2: im going to the 6TH grade. does that still mean i cant come? cause techincally me and taters are still in the 5th grade until sometime in August. am i right? oliver and i can work out something with a plane? right?
Yup, thats the stuff :)
Well, I'm not really sure what a musabi is, but spam musubi is basically a slice of spam and some rice wrapped up in nori. And when its finished, it should be in an rectangle-ish shape.
Aren't u done in yet?? Must have had a pretty good day, from what I have read. Sleeeeeep is in order now. If only. Rite? I guess Kojack must a had his tootsie pop in his mouth backwards more than one time in his show... Hmmm. A huge thanks for your c n c's. Means a lot to me.. Cheers!!!
Oh yeah, the S.American Tree Frog is the most popular for the colors, etc.. They look unreal, like from another planet. I bet, with your guidance that frog will be awesome!!!
ur welcome!
no problem. I understand and it's ok if you don't add me. I added you because I love your drawing and this way I can see whenever you make new ones :D
I sent that "anonymous" draw to Matt and he deleted it :) YES ... summer is HERE .... oh noooooo, Mr. Bill! LOL ... HUG! Hope your first day of art camp was a great one, hon :)
thank you for the cheers and the comments at my drawings :]
thank you again for the cheer :D
Hi Gerry,
Thanks for your note on my profile. If I'm correct, you want me to tell some child he shouldn't be copieng stuff like I made with the lady with the low neck line.
But I have to say my English is good enough to understand most of the things being said, but I'm not qiet sure I got everything right you wrote.
If you want me to delete this drawing: no problem at all, if it's too offensive for some.
Please, let me know.
Best regards,
Rogier
Wao!
3weeks?!
It's very long!!
Where are they going to go?
They'll be not stay only TOKYO.
There now, please don't be so jealous.

Do you like pots?
Something like "IMARI" or "ARITA" ?
http://www.imari-ookawachiyama.com/kamamoto/4/index.html
:D, naturally!
Gerry - major computer restructuring and offlines going about here for the last three days so excuse my not getting back to you earlier - but thinking of you and your first day of Camp and I say that you can't miss and "WHOO HOO GO GERRY!!!"
It was fun for me! >your friend just call you jellyfish
my nick nema is "kuu"
It means one of my first name,"ä¹…".
ä¹… is read "hisa" , "kyuu" and "ku".
So my nick name is kuu.

I'm glad to hear that(you love Japan)!
Please come my country :)
tks for the c 'n c :)
Oh I would love to see your iris. You don't have to worry about me, I am not the strange type about art. LOL Well, that is not really what I meant to say but go ahead and finish your drawing. I can't wait to see it! :-)
Gerbear...thank you so much for always commenting on my things, whether they Are silly are otherwise...I really appreciate the attention you always give. It does help to have someone say nice things about what you do and you are always saying such nice things!! Thanks again!!
BEST OF LUCK TOMORROW. YOUR FIRST DAY OF CAMP! THINKING OF YOU AND PRAYERS!
Hi, Ger, been gone a couple of days....grandson graduated from High School, a death in the family, and Great news about Tyler. He is learning to each (suck) out of a bottle. Getting better every day. Hope to have him home in 10-14 days. Just wanted to say hi too!
TY, Ger.....
Good for you. You could also, place notices at craigslist. org, kijiji and Kaango, (both coms) if you haven't already.
so you say that youdraw is a website kinda like this? i think ill go try it out tonight
K, I sent in a request. Since it's Sunday I won't expect an answer until tomorrow. So, now I guess I should just go to my 2 MySpace and 1 FaceBook accounts and put your link on them. Every little bit helps to get you on page ONE, where you belong.. I am sure you know about the little bots that crawl all over web pages, so with just the three accounts I have it should put you up a bit higher than you are now. Not instantly, but in a few weeks anyway. Wish my brain had been working several weeks ago.. *sigh... Any who...Have fun tomorrow!!
so you forgive me? i love sketchfu and id hate to be banned from it. thanks for understanding. i actually got the idea from rogier. i thought it was funny, but it was still innapropriate. personally i think that boobs are nasty, because i dont rate women on their bodies, i do it on personalities. so thanks for letting me off the hook.
im sorry. PLEASE dont ban me, i promise i deleted it. i swear. ill never draw another thing like it again. i SWEAR! i just thought id draw it to be funny. i was gonna delete it anyway. but then i had to go to the store so it took me a while to see all of my messages. PLEASE DONT BAN ME!!!!!! and PLEASE DONT TELL MENOPAWS!!!!! she expects more of me and i do too. im sorry!
Thanks for the nice comment.. =)
While resting my 'tennis' elbow from too much 'mousing' around,,, I had a thought. I subscribe to our city's listserve for the arts, and would like to send them your link with a little blurb. If you don't mind. They are a very serious knowledge base for our area, and have strict rules for posting. You're right up their alley so to speak. Who knows, maybe someone has relatives by you or friends, and are looking for the kind of camp you have??? Waddya think?
Thank you, like I said before I normally would not put up a big fuss but I am really glad you guys stand behind your artists here. Makes is a nicer place to be. :-)
thanks
bye
okay.. i understand, if you don't want to talk to me it's okay... but do you mind if i come to you if somebody's copying
or type it
sorry that didn't work instead hit this:http://sketchfu.com/drawing/215859-coloring-contest-turtle-ends-june-10
do you want to enter my coloring contest.. to enter it hit this:http://sketchfu.com/drawing/215859-coloring-contest-turtle-ends-june-10
I'm sure I'll love it!
Your welcome!Your nice too!
Oh, and I forgot to add. CONGRATS on being a FU Mod now!
I know! Ain't it a "bear"! Yes I had to say it.....lol. My vacation just starting as you are throwing yourself into the camp. Hope you're enjoying though and that it all goes well.

Yack atchya soon!
Gearbear some girl named heatgirl347 has copied my picture this is the link to her http://sketchfu.com/drawing/216446-follow-the-path-and-press-e-while-watching- S
Sometimes it can be so annoying when people don't ignore this kind of things.
You're probably right. There must be something like.. "cooperation" between users and mods. It's not only the moderator's work to prevent such situations. :)
thank you! I kinda feel better now :]
I draw with my mouse too but I'm planing to buy a tablet. It's so awsome to be an art teacher. If I was from USA I'd sure come to your class.
Also thanks for the warm welcoming! I'm a little new (I've been here since last month) and I already saw how friendly users are. I only had one bad experince but I've contacted HQ and solved it :D you and the other moderators are the best!
hi! I love all of your draws! you're awsome!
now I was just wondering...in your description says that you draw online for 5 years; do you use a tablet or draw with your mouse? ^^
check out my coloring contest!
Yes, you're right : Mimmo paladino is an artist, an contemporary italian painter. If you want to know much more about him, you can see some of his work at the sperone westwater gallery website.
http://www.speronewestwater.com/cgi-bin/iowa/artists/record.html?record=2
hi!
haha! Thanks, and thats a grate excuse for no wings! lol
Yer very Welcome!
Memories is right...I remember all us kids teasing my Dad & we'd start asking "Are we there yet?" as he was backing out of the driveway!!!! He even had to laugh at that one....
"Wow"!! It sounds like great things are happening here at "sketchfu". I'm glad to hear that you and "Meno" are "moderators" here now.....that's great!!! Yes, I have noticed how much faster things "load" here now.....what a difference!! I think I will try doing some draws here again. I haven't drawn anything here for such a long time....I kinda forgot how to draw here...."LOL"!! I'm so used to the drawing applets at 2Draw....and I like the "blend and smudge" tools in chibi paint.....I hope I'll be able to remember how to draw a "pic" here. I'll have to to "practice" first....before I "post" anything...."lol"! I see that people have been doing some really nice draws here. I recognize a few people.....but there sure are a lot of new people here. Where is "Starzshine" drawing at?? I haven't seen her in ages.....and whatever happened to "Ferdi"? I hope all of the "oldies" come back!! "LOL". You've really been doing some nice artwork here....all of your artwork is great. Anyhow....thanks for "updating" me on all that's been happening here.....I'm definitely gonna keep "checking" back here.....and hopefully one of these days, I'll be able to "post" a draw here. Take care!!! "Hugs"!! :)
thanks... and I thought you were in my friends list already, I was looking through my friends list to reply to you, and i thought i was missing something, i looked 3 times and no gerbear (!?). well you're on there now.

and you're in houston, we are practically neighbors. i have a brother that lives there, actually clear lake, but it's a fun city to visit.

oh and i love your relish, good subject perspective on the relish, lol.
Lol!
Hi "Gerbear"! It's great to see you drawing again.....I haven't been here to "sketchfu" in quite awhile.....it's great to come back and see some nice changes that have been happening here. I've been drawing pretty much at 2Draw.....but I'll be stopping back here more often now, to see how things are going. It's nice that sketchfu is really "fast" now.....that "slow" lag was really a pain! I'll be looking forward to seeing "lots" of draws from you.....I love your artwork!!! :)
I am on early and late. Mostly on and off all day long. Oh...I commend you for your Art Camp. That is something that I always dreamed of doing. I taught an art class for students 4-8th grade in my other life. But it was just for the summer. It was a blast. Native American Art. I love your work too by the way. Check out that myoats place. You will like it.
Thx man
If you don't mean the kind of floor that makes you seasick just looking at it, then no, I really don't know that kind of floor..
Thanks AGAIN!! hehe
Well,I Did add it to FU World. And I can;t help but think that I once saw something sorta similar awhile back..
anyway, thanks for the cheers and all!!
Thanks Geri, appreciate your helpful hints! Isn't Luthien an awesome artist & she's so young. Looks like a very bright future in store for her....you were probably the same way at her age! Have a great weekend, my friend! LU
Uhhhhh .... paperwork! :P Yeah, driving while exhausted is 1) not fun, and 2) downright dangerous. But don't forget your "me time" while camp is in session; try to relax and recharge when you can ... HUG!
oh ok i get it:(
That does sound like a better system, I agree. This system as-is, gets really annoying! Are you in Galveston right now?
I hear you. A Favorites Gallery would be great ... maybe that's next on the agenda? What would be even better would be to be able to delete pics rather than entire galleries, then all of this would be a non-issue and a real time and aggravation saver!
My boss is too. XD Those crutches will never keep her down. I do believe in faries! I do! I DO! :D
Gearbear there are some people that are ruining some other peoples pictures and I just wanted to be helpful and help other people, and the persons name is Authentic and the picture is on the 1st page called my kitty and scroll done and you'll see it.
I'm glad you decided to tell the one who defaced Luthien's draw to delete; I had done that and then she showed up and made a comment after me, so I decided to ask her opinion before following through. But I'm glad you stood firm, Gerry, because it's not right, especially with such a magnificent draw. Usually I don't hesitate ... and I won't again ;)
thank you very much for the cheer!!!
Thanks, Gerbear. I realize that warning people about stealing is very important to the community, it's morale and manners, but personally, I couldn't care less about who scribbles on my work. I guess over the past couple years I just got worn soft around the edges...especially since this isn't a matter that involves any sort of payment other than my satisfaction of learning taken out of a couple hours of practice (a rare occurrence, unfortunately).

So...while I really appreciate what you do, don't feel pressured to immediately do anything about the defaced drawings just because they're by me. :) I think it's awesome that you're a mod - a lot of people need you, and you do your job well. Thanks again.

That said, I've missed seeing the odd over-dramatic turd wandering about Sketchfu! ;D Just kidding.
thanks :D
Thanks so much, Gerbear! That's a good thing to know - at least I'm worthy of an art college, even thought I'm not going to one. ;) (The point being that I can get part of the same education cheaper at a juior college with a nice campus). It makes me happy that you enjoy Jason's picture that much, he's a real stinker. XD
Hi! jellyfish!:)
I love real jellyfish ,too.
Thank you for your comment.

But why were you called "jellyfish" ?
lol, your welcome. and , when i kinda meant thank you, i meant thank you to all the mods, but i only said it to you. :P time to go say it to the rest. lol. ill get in touch with matt or andrew, i dunno. But another thing i might ask em' is for an eraser button, or a fill tool. :D yay!!
Hiya! I love your rainbows and i just wanted to say...thank you for giving us a delet comment button! ( i get enbarassed from my old, foolish comments...) lol!
thank you!
Hehe. Love your comment on WIP 3. Imagery isn't wasted on you, lol. Even the barber pole's place in the drawing. I ... can't ...stop ...drawing. I may never sleep again. I been playing instruments and drawing all day. I'm having a creative surge, I wish I had a monetary outlet for it at the moment. Off to view the new draws. :)
thank you so much gerry, I really appreciate your comment to me. It is always really good to hear that I´m not alone in my struggle, that there are people that understand what I´m going through.
I have felt that FU has in fact helped me these past few months. It is always good to get good review on things your doing and I am actually less afraid now to show my art to others since I joined FU. I even feel more confident about it and that does a great deal of good when one is feeling down.
thank you for letting me know your out there, it gives me great comfort. I have been struggling with depression for few years now, it has gone up and down, but lately I´ve been feeling better, but still I have bad days, even weeks. Its getting further between the rough parts, but then It´s more frustrating when the bad parts arrive. The one has to feel the frustration from one´s loved ones too, that´s even harder.
anyway, thank you again and I will have you in my mind when I have to remind me again that I´m not alone.
Matt's done some more "tweaking" ... the longer draws are loading much more quickly for me ... for you, too? No more stalling! HooHAW :D
Hey, hon! Still alive and kicking! Yesterday was a busy day here, I gotta say ... it wasn't boring! ;D .... HUG!
Thank you so much for the cheers and comment. :)
Okay, I'm glad he wasn't lost in the crowd. Guess FU isn't old enough to get inside. Which means thats a pretty old cricket in there ..or more likely a figment. Lol. I have always been terrible at drawing cars. While most kids drew race cars and rockets, I was drawing dinosaurs ripping people to shreds and anything but cars. I had to go back after your comment to zoom up to see what I did on the hood ornament and I realize that my only mental reference to them is from Wild Ones. It appears I was attempting to do a winged angel. And thank you for noticing ... of course the rest of the hood looks like its a 55 DeSoto or something. lol.
Many many thanks for comments on my pics. I shall be specially grateful for the kind and sympathetic words expressed for the mishaps.I came to know that you have a big heart too.
Hehe. now I remember why I stay up so late! Thank you as always. And yes I meant to fix that jukebox. Thought I had clearly made buttons K and 4 pressed in and had micro-pixel printed the song listing on the jukebox list. But decided instead to title the drawing what was playing on the juke. lol. Btw, it's funny because I think maybe no one noticed, since I seemly drew the window early in the draw, but very late in the draw I went back and added a familiar guy in the window. Guess there is too much to look at that little things can become hidden. Fun stuff. (else he was noticed but not mentioned in comments)
Lol. But isn't the madness coming through nicely now. lol.
hi...im lonely right now and srry bout that drawing that i wasnt old enough...
Hi again, your comments on everyone's work are so funny and brilliant - just to let you know - SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!!!:) I never told you what happened to my other work, btw - it's still here under the name "jp." If you are still mod, maybe you could help me, when things slow down a bit for you, to move a 4 or 5 of them over. But if it's a pain, forget it. I keep forgetting to sign things - not that there aren't a lot of things I wouldn't care to sign - Joyce ps) I did see on FG forum a long while back that Grace was complaining that some things just "disappeared" and that now everyone thought she was just withholding them. For what it is worth. Thanks to scares at yd, I had saved most of my work and thanks to Meno's great idea to take her work off before things went further had followed her example and really have everything. I sure feel nervous about showing how it were in the 60's - an era for which I am still paying with my health... but I feel so vulnerable. But maybe that will help with my work.
Wow, I sure hope Alice's pen works for you! Thanks for all the c&c's- so sweet of you!!! All ready for camp? (Hug!)
That is so strange about your pen it was a wacom yes please if you can send me the serial number of the tablet I may have a pen for you. I have a extra tablet its not a wacom but your welcome to it if you want. its a large tablet and i was just so use to my small one that it felt strange so i never used it. let me know G ok
Thank you as always. So often you are first on the scene after I've posted something. :) FTW = For the win!
Well, it's also because teddy bears are sweet and wonderful and everything nice (like you). :3 And bricks? They're fantastic looking either way.

Thanks so much for the visit on Ashio. :D I've learned a little more about coloring skin tones digitally and also about light source and completmentary colors. Learning more and more about that sort of thing really helps pull the drawings together. I'm glad you noticed the highlight on the dark side of his hair! ^_^
Thank you for the comment/cheers :D Actually I did not think about borgs or anything while drawing the picture, I've just seen that kind of head-thingie a bit here and there.. for some reason it's quite popular, yet noone seems to know exactly what it is ^^

Anyway, thanks :)
Good Morning, Ms Queen Bear,of Late Nite Fuing. Looks like your sleeping may becoming an issue. OH MY ...BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. Not good, but you know that. Thanks Ms. Queen Bear for the wonderful praise on my newest portraite draw. It is me, sort of. I am not good enough to do an accurate self portraite. Someday maybe!!! Anyway your comment was a boost to my efforts. I left the link about EN. Hope it answers your question. Miss our early morning chats. I am trying to do better with my sleeping patterns. It is NOT EASY, AS YOU WELL KNOW! Hugs B
what r u talking about ur profile pic or whatever and u dont even no my life style so plz dont try 2 predect my life. we just moved to dallas a few weeeks ago we did live in missouri
Florida seems to be back in its traditional afternoon thunderstorm pattern; we've had lots of lightning and heavy rains recently. We NEED the rain, but not the lightning! Every time a storm approaches, I have to pull the plug on the computer, which is a pain, and also why I'm seldom here much in the afternoon lately :P I try to Mod in the morning and early evening ... I took care of iceyblaze's problem (see below) :) HUG!
Uhhhhh .... no sleep = not good :P You don't want to get run down from lack of sleep. I'll fire up the ban button if need be by the end of the day; one I warned already deleted the draw, so that's good. Sometimes they actually listen! OK ... not very often ;D We can only try, right? GET SOME REST! LU
http://bebo.com/BEAUTIFULFLUTTERBYS Hope this works for you. Look around and enjoy. L~Babs
Hello Gerri. I am feeling better. I do not mind you asking. I have a rare condition called Erythema Nodosmn. Mine is the chronic kind. LUCKY ME!!! I was diagnosed in 1972. I wrote a blog about my experiences with it on bebo. I will copy and paste to my profile here, if it will fit. Better yet, I will put a link to my bebo profile. I was diagnoised in 1972, by a biopsy, of a nodule. It is very painful and I had an awfully bad time for two days. Some vacation time huh?!?!?! Never able to predict when it will put me down. I have limited mobility. No long walks in the park. My walking this time, of difficulty, was shuffle and moan. I was in a stupor pretty much. I take benadryl and sleep. All I can do. My husband is such a blessing. He takes care of me totally. He has seen me go through a lot with it. I will get the link and put it on your page. L~Babs
ok im really sorry i stoll ur drawing i should of ask. that was rude of me. if i change the title can i keep the drawing?
Let's see,,, Is it 'Break a Leg' for this kind of endeavor?? Or is Good Luck ok?? One never knows, when talking about Art of any kind. At any rate may your Camp be Most successful!!
Hi! Just wanted to say Happy Memorial Day! :3
Hi Hunni-Bear! Poor baby .... a nice Epsom salt soak is good for sore muscles. I hit the ban button on one of the ones you warned; they didn't have any "friends" anyway, and clearly just wanted to cause problems. Who needs that? Hooray on the HuffPo thing ... whatever helps! HUG!
Thanks for all the cheers and comment, gerbear.
I'm sort of surprised somebody recognized 'ol Stewart. He's one of my favorite people; half of my education came from reading old issues of Whole Earth Catalog, Whole Earth Review, and CoEvolution Quarterly. The stuff he's doing nowadays also really interests me. I guess you could say he's a huge influence on me and kind of a hero.
I don't know if old WECs are worth anything. They were pretty common at one time. They're so great to browse through, though!

Yeah, I was raised by hippies. Kinda. In some senses of the word. :D
Hi Gerry. ;-) Thanks for the very nice comments (and cheers) on my recent pics. Spring is in the air...the sounds, smells and sights! My own photographs and memories are very inspiring for these drawings. I was gardening with cardinals and little yellow finches yesterday...hehe...I might try drawing a bird. Never know. Your comment on my "Glisten" was very encouraging, but if you want to take a peek at this yt, and see a little piece of my world...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyrxNRObdXM
ok, thanks for the message. :)
Thanks Gearbear.
Hi hon! I've been in and out today; you seem to have caught a bunch of stuff I didn't even see .... I need to wake up! HUG!
Gearbear have you found the person scribbling on my pictures?
Gerry - I understand, so rough - here too - yikes -
Gerry did you try to change the batteries in the pen of your tablet.
because mine did the same thing and it was the pen so give it a shot if you have not done that yet .....
Yes I am as senile as you are but as long as I can swim and look good to my husband i'll be ok. I have been around just so busy with the granddaughters I dont have the mental capacity to draw just play mindless games and watch tv lol..... but I will draw today between doing the wash ..You know me G I cant do just one thing at a time ....
Well i already did warn :menopaws: once. i dont like warning Sm/Gm(s)
i'll stick with leaving one message or another sometimes...
u should tell rogier 2 stop drawin nasty stuff there r lil boy n girls
thank you from the bottom of my heart King Gerbear.....I'll never understand why people do that....it's just silly, don't they realize that the date & time is posted when a pic has been drawn? Anyone can tell who drew it originally! And what satisfaction do they get, they know it's not their work! Oh well, I again thank you for making him delete it. Hope you had a nice day yesterday. Weather was great here & we partied at our daughter's house. About 30 people (friends & family) Good turnout, tons of food & lots of fun. Today is indeed, a day of rest! Have a good one, my 'ol friend!!!!
p.s. I checked out your 2draw gallery the other day and your work there is fantastic. I didn't join however which is the only way to play with the app or comment.
Happy Holiday to you too. No hurry for a response but had a few quick questions up front. Assuming there is a small light on the pad, does it stay on when it freezes or dies? Have you tried other USB ports? (if your regular mouse is USB have you tried swapping the ports to see if the mouse starts acting up and pad doesn't. The pad, given that you had it a while is probably USB 1.1 compliant, do you know if it is plugged into a 1.1 or 2.0 USB port? Have you taken the tip off to see if the pen nub sticks? It is such a small amount of adjustment but maybe when it continues drawing you can see if it pushes in or if it gets stuck in. Since it's random I doubt the control panel settings could be off and I'm sure you have looked at them.
Well I have been pretty pleased with my results here. Having not been on other draw sites with exception to artpad.com a few times which is about as basic as it gets. And have wondered why they don't partner with someone for that Cafe Press experience. And lol, I hope I don't get unofficially wrangled into a FU Mod union boss.
About your Wacom, did you mention that it sometimes does work? Since the pen does not use batteries, perhaps it is a driver issue, a usb issue or a usb driver issue? If you haven't had it checked out and feel like explaining the problem, I could possibly offer a short list of things to try. IT is one of my main forte's.
gerbear um.. there's this person named twilight-queen and she is copying EVERYONE'S PICTURE'S! HELP NEEDED!!!!!!!>????????!!!!! LOVE BLUEGYMNAST
Lol, yeah. Sometime later I make some new ones. Recently i've been busy with homework... -_-

bluegymnast
hi! i'm awesome
it's ok, thanx for being soooooo mature (I mean in a totally good way)
Thanks for the cheers and commment. =)
& what about you? How is your husband's morale? We go to the wall every month trying to keep our *#(^ shop (we support IT - it doesn't support US) but Larry indicates clearly that he would go (even more) nuts without it so I know it must be very hard if your husband cannot do what he is expert at.... (HUG!)
Oh, I see, duh - June 1st. Wow!
Hi Gerry, Looking up a little I think, thanks for asking! I agree with Mr. Cooper on the issue of pay for fu Mods, btw. The system has been really slow for me the last few days - it takes a serious commitment and a LOT of patience just to cheer a drawing, and even more so to make a comment. Hard on both of my computers (Mac). You perceive correctly about the fun I had - really need to just relax sometimes when drawing but who can explain why one feels one should post something - or not! Yes, I used to do the paper collages all the time (no tearing, just a scissors) - what a mess, lol!:) When does camp begin?
Heh, love the minimalist response. Yes, I figured if people are going to get notified and find a drawing deleted that it should at least have an amusing title. I've used the Devo lyrics "crack that WIP" recently as well. Feel free to comment up Nicks card. I think that would be part of the fun of him discovering it. And his class went to paris last month already. Uncle Keith edited his trip video project. :) He really likes SketchFu and is negotiating the terms of joining. He is quite talented in self taught piano and is fearless of what pieces he chooses to learn. He is probably harboring some major artistic skills as well. On a side note, I have added digital drawings to my website art page which reads like a billboard for Sketchfu. Lol. Now I'll just sit back and wait for that royalty check ... and wait ... and wait ...
No worries...enjoy.
oh, i took some art classes in high school and college, but it's been a while, lol. that's what i like about the way this place lets you watch drawings, you can watch a drawing happen and pick up tricks, techniques and learn new things, which to me is what art is all about, sharing the human experience. as for moonset and jellyfish, i had a fantastic dream one time about jellyfish flying in moonlight, i did that one based partly on the dream, partly on an image of the moon that i found on google images, and from various jellyfish images that i had found. i plan on doing some more on the same theme, maybe i'll do one on canvas one of these days, i'm so glad you liked it.
I just come here to draw...that's all.
wow, that's very kind of you. :) ...oh and to answer your other question, i am not a professional, it's just something i enjoy, more and more every day. actually before i signed up here (and YD) i had not really drawn or painted much of anything for 15 or so years, this site and people are inspiring. in fact i would not be here if i hadn't read your comment over at YD, so thank you.
hey, thanks for letting me know about that bubble picture, yours is absolutely amazing (i love it) and there would be no reason for me to keep mine. i took it down as a tribute to you, and will not be continuing it. yeah, i was looking around on the internet for bubble pictures because they looked like such fun, what are the chances that it had been done, lol. i'm starting over with a new bubble picture, hopefully it's not been done, the other one was good practice. :)
Your welcome, and thank you. ;)
I forgot to add. My boy turned 16 today! Still can't believe it. I took him out to dinner tonight and we're having the party with the family tommorrow. It will be one Guitar Hero rockin' band day by the afternoon....lol.

Hugs & pray that I'll still have ears after all the squealing and jammin'! ;)
Hey Geri!

Yep, Tuesday was my last day and yesterday was the last day of the school year. Cross your fingers for me. They may be hiring for a couple of spec. ed. assisstants for the fall and I already have an app. on file. I should hear something by mid or end of June.

I'm glad to hear that the camp is a go! Just remember to have some fun and keep us posted when you can.

Luv ya'!

Robin
hey gerbear wat up
Sorry.......bye
Hi Geri, I read your messages to Tony & didn't realize he or Scottie never commented on any of your work. I don't find that to be very fair either. But when Tony complained about "them" I'm not positive he was including you in the collective "them". I think Tony had issues with some people & when he made his complaints known, he indicated that "they" knew who "they" were. And I know you're not meaning to drag me in....and I don't feel that you are. I hope Tony takes what you said to heart & realizes he wasn't being very cordial...I don't want bad feeling between you guys....especially since you go way back to YouDraw...Hope thing get rectified...Love ya, Ger & if you are reading this Tony, I hope you & Geri can clear the air & make a new start....
Hey Gerbear, you know you are welcome in my world anytime! I'm not saying my world is without kinks, I just tend to ignore them & keep smiling!!!! Thanks for you sweet comment!
Ugh, just now he says sorry! >:(
He made a clown version of my drawing 'Tigerstar'!!! Please help me.....
http://sketchfu.com/drawing/194150-baboon-butted-hamstter go to his profile and you will see that I asked him nicely at first, twice. Then I gave up because he wasnt going to and I thought it would be funny to harass him once........ Ok go to the link now. ^.^
plz do my color chalange
Well, I love and appreciate you, for sure! :) HUG!
thanks for the cheer I don't get that many cheers. I appreciate it.
Hello, hon :) A big thanks for the "pep talk" ... I think I should've done more babysitting as a teenager; it would've toughened my hide ... ha!
MrOxyClean stole my drawing a little while back, and he didnt erase it....... can you ban him? He doesnt get on anyways and he is mean to me. Please and thank you!
Good Morning Geri, just a quick TY for your C&C's. also wanted to say have a wonderul weekend. Doing anything special? WE're heading over to our daughters for a Memorial Day shindig on Saturday. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate...Hope you enjoy yours....Love ya, ~Sue
I deleted the drawing you wanted me to.
i dont have any blank drawings..
Canvas? :o
hey Ger :) thanks for the C&Cs,yes firewheel trees are real http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/plant/Stenocarpus-Sinuatus-Firewheel-Tree.htm (although i probably shiould bot show you that..now you will see just how inaccurate my drawing it
Lol. No I think you found your calling just fine. And you truly fit the FU Welcome Wagon. Yes I am familiar although it seemed a suburban thing, at least in cinema and we were never suburbanite kinda people. Of course now the Welcome Wagon has been replaced by the drive-by "Whacha doin' in mah hood' Lady. But I think if you're going to embrace the WW role, it should definately be a paid position (Listening Matt?) LOL. Anyway, it is nice how you share your art knowledge and perk up everyone's pages and profiles. You are quite the support icon here. Re: Timing .. I had been using lines and dots and recently I have faded parts thinking opacity covers take longer to reproduce. I was not sure if same color doodling even picks up as actual content or if it is ignored thus no time lapse so been trying to change things. But what I need to figure out is the when and how long part. My stories work well some of the time then I misjudge and a few parts zip by or hang there. Its a mix between timing using actual updates and timing using behind the scene doodling. i.e. At end of the tutorial piece when I worked on the shading I had no need to trick the timing, in fact it took too long and I could have broken it up with a few laughs. I have edited film for years so it is nearly the same process of judging the length of time vs. the content to be read or watched. Once I figure out how long the different methods offer me I should be able to produce a story that flows with comedic timing as well. And you know what the secret of comed"TIMING". lol. And you said YOU write long comments. :)
HAHAHA! GEEEEEERRRRRRR! I was just at that spot of adding lines when it woudn't work right....so i'll try it again and see if i can finish! :) for the funny!
thanks for the comment! i am happy with the way it turned out and i am glad you like it too :)
Good morning Hunni-Kin...we are enjoying a spring morning to write home about. Beautiful!!!! I hit the floor running. DillonMan needed to work on spelling sentences. Trash pickup so gathering from bins through out the house. Dishwasher to load. You know a woman's work is never done. Until nap time!!!! LOL Dillon has finally started taking interest in his room. So now he is making requests which means more to do. It is a good thing though since he and his mom will share his room until the apt. for them is complete. Which will be awhile!!! I just want to play this summer and enjoy. After school start, we can get down to business. Don't know what her thinking will be. She is a very hard worker and may have different plans. A male friend of hers has been emailing me more often since he knows she is on her way home. He lives in New York, A retired police officer. He has been in love with her for years. He wants us to come up for a week at a beach vacation spot, he has reserved. He has a 13 yr old son. He would want K and D to move there. OMG I want him to stay far away!!!! Can you imagine D going kicking and screaming. ChattingMan has been threating to punch him out. Dillon has been such a part of his life. All of us. I haven't answered his email. Hope he gets the hint. :D Well Chatty Babs today. L
Oh hi. Your welcome. Nah the last lesson will be on 19th June. :3 so I'm still at school. Hugs
Yep. It was all Japanese propoganda generated to make the world feel sorry for them and give them all our technology so they could become one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. All this time it was really a monster of their own making.
I hope I have not started some major diplomatic row now. Hehe.
Lol
Actually your Godzilla is spot-on, of course. Btw, thank you as I see now and then you drop my name to other cool artists around here. :)
You're welcome! Thank you for thanking me everytime I cheer your drawings XD
hi gerbear thanks for recommending this site ;)
aloe-hah from youdraw
Hi Gerri, I'm doing well in some ways and not so well in others. I'll get to the bad parts later in this note, but as for family and work and all things related, not to shabby..:)) I've had a few promotions through work that despite our current economic crisis has kept us afloat but on that same token of thought, it's also a precarious position that can go away without a moments notice. So many people are losing there jobs, homes, entire lively hoods are being destroyed that I have personally witnessed it happen to friends and family alike. I'm not to sure what caused me to go into this topic but i guess it's something thats been weighting on my mind as of late and maybe I'm just venting... Ok., now for a far more cheerful topic - I really like the website you have for summer camp - informative, simple and definately warm and friendly.., I can only hope that you will do well in this new endeavor and be able to share your knowledge and outstanding insights with your students. I really beleive it's going to be very satisfying and successful for you.:)) Anyways, I did say I would mention the bad stuff later in this note; As of late i've been battling with anemia. Not to worry - I'm on my meds but it's a bit tricky consideirng I seem to be losing blood from somewhere and non of the doctors that I've seen as of late have not identified the problem. A complete battery of tests have conducted over a period of a few months with no positive results, but I am hopeful that with a little more research, perhaps on my own, a solution can be found.. Sorry for this note being really scattered.. LOL .., it's 0624 on the east coast still haven't had any coffee yet ...:))) But I'll definately check in to sketchfu from time to time to check on my Sketchfu buddies and drop a few doodles in... It's great this website is actually moving pretty quick these days ... :)))
Thanks for the comment on my flower. I just wanted to draw something. I hate when the thumnail looks so Blah!!! No, I didn't play with a wooly willy but I was about to do one. I am trying to catch up from my very light participation on SF. I had to lay low, because I didn't have time to answer all the lovely comments, my friends leave. I guess I should have left a message explainng my absence. Dillon's mother is our youngest child. Her name is KaSandra, I drew her and not well. LOL I may be able to do better with your instructions. I need time, right now it is scarce. I get along with my daughter beautifully. She was my best friend. She is funny, energetic, loving and quite a charmer. It should be great. Of course challenges as well. L~B
oh yeh, will you do a wooly willy? did you play with that as a kid?
That is a great idea...I will do that. That first one has to be an embarrasement!!!! OMG
Oh Gerri, that was an oversite on my part!!!! I appreciate your help more than you can know. You are such a darling for doing that for me. I was so busy the past days. Had a friend in yesterday She came at 9 and stayed till after five, helping with cleaning. Sunday my daughter was here. Dillon's Mom is coming home. It is a crazy time here. My failure to acknowledge the last instructional draw, has nothing to do with my lack of appreciation. Just over sight. Please FORGIVE ME!!!
Much love my friend! Hugs and Kisses.
Lol. Thanks a million. I had hoped you would like it as I piggybacked it on your informative one. Yes I remember Wooley Willy. I was once in line at the airport with some actor friends and there was a guy in the next line behind me who was completely bald but had a thick black beard and moustache. All I said to my friends was, Do you remember that magnetic game where you use the magnet stick to pull iron filings over a face? They immediately looked over my shoulder and got it. Lol.
ur welcome! ^_^
Hello,
Im just joined this site to day please check out my drawings comment please!
Thanks for the cheer and the comment. Yeah, it all seems normal to me. I'll just keep crapping them out! =D lol thanks again.
oh yo, I know that, but, do you really think it'll work on an animation, like something like a scene with chat bubbles and stuff? But still, even though I knew that, thx for letting me know anyhways! :D
Don't give it a moment's thought; you just concentrate on that camp! :) HUG!
I turned our "little problem" over to the boys; it's best they handle that one, I think :)
Well, the character on the left is the Sketchfu member Edward_Elric411, who asked me to draw her with the anime series 'FullMetal Alchemist' character, Alphonse Elric. ^_^; So you see, she used Alphonse's brother's name as her screen name. Confusing, huh? Either way, it would still have been hard to recognize him - Al only shows up in his human for in the movie at the very end of the series! The rest of the time he's just a hollow suit of ancient armor. Bummer!

And, unfortunately, I'll be drawing another rather obsolete character for a request: Ashio of the series 'Jungle Hare nochi Guu'. I'm sorry, this is really awkward...
*referring :)
I don't subscribe to the idea that people should learn to express themselves and they'll find the means themselves. Too many get discouraged because they don't know where they're going wrong. I think they should be taught the rules first. It's a good job I'm not an art teacher, I'd start them off with Ruskin's Laws of Fésole - make them spend a day practicing drawing straight lines. Have you read Ruskin's books? You have to love a teacher who starts off with something like, "To avoid confusion, I will call the brush the pencil; the pencil, I will call the lead; when I speak of the crayon, I will be refering to chalk. That's the way to teach. Kids though, should be allowed to get on with it, have fun, and make a mess.
Hi Gerry, 'The Rules' are the dominant news item over here. The Daily Telegraph got hold of MPs' expenses and allowances claims for the last few years and has been publishing them over the last week or so. All claim to have acted within the rules, apart from the odd 'honest' mistake or 'innocent' error, such as forgetting they'd paid off their mortage a couple of years ago. Take a look at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8039273.stm for a flavour of what's going on. People are furious and want to send the Generals into Parliament. That was what was on my mind when I made the rules comment.
awwwww, you don't have to thank me, dear fellow insomniac, just drop a line when convenient to catch me up on how camp is going and etc. I know it will be a big success!!!!!!
Thank you so much for all your cheers.
'mornin' Ger, I haven't heard anything about the baby but the c-section was scheduled for 3 o'clock yesterday...I'm guessing tyler is here! I just said a prayer for a safe delivery!!! Maybe we'll hear something today....
Hi Gerry and thanks! Good night:), zzzzzzzz....
hiya\2
Thanks for your cheers and comments.
Hi Gerry, I've left you a message on my profile. I'm still not sure where to reply. I prefer the YouDraw way, where conversations and debates just spring up on drawings.
Hi again!(sorry for alot of the greetings, you draw great!)
FuBert and FuAnne sittin' in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g!....etc..(see, I remember that song, too...lol) and...hmmmmm, Fus in a baby carriage!!!.....having inspiration...=^-o^=
ur welcome! ^^
awww, thanks, Ger, U2
I welcome any lesson no matter what its origin...I'm going to down load it to save & then copy all your instructions....NOW, you better try to sleep....you have camp in the morning? You'll be nodding off!!!
fine!
Hi!
Lol. FUland is on BestOf page eight times.
Helloooooo :D Enjoy the game! I'm popping in and out of the TV room and the computer room (I have a desktop not a laptop) ... the Cubs are beating Houston even as I write this.
Oh,Sorry! ^^;
I will do so,I would hate to get banned.
Oh my gosh, Gerbear. You're a mod as well as Meno! Congratulations! <[:D
It's the 29th, so it's the same day that Pixar's 'UP' is released as well, I'm so excited! XD Sorry about that WIP, I just know that my eyes can get pretty delusional when I'm focusing on one item rather than the whole composition. I don't want to spoil the final impact either. :)
Thanks for the comments and cheers! and yes you can save that pic, lol. Oh and for the comment on my profile, I have a couple years to go before college lol. Thanks again!
Thank you grebear!
GERBEAR CAN YOU TELL ICEYBLAZE THAT SHE'S NOT ALOUD ON HER? I WANY YOU TO TELL HER TOO SHE WILL BE SO SO SO EXCITED!
Boy, lots of drawing last night ... I miss all the fun stuff! ;D I'll be in and out today, too ... lots of baseball this afternoon. Go Rays! Go Cubs! HUG!
Ger, no you did not answer my email......:(
OK...back to the drawing board literly.
First, Thanks so much for the kind words about my progress, and hard work. I DO LOVE THE WHOLE PROCESS. I also want to really learn. You said in the beginning,
person can learn a lot on SF by watching others. I have found that to be absolutly true. It is so amusing to me when newbies say, "I am so jealous of your abilities"
I tell them "you can do it to"! I have gone through a lot of time, energy and trys to get where I am. I am NO WHERE close to being what I want to be!!! A whiteboard artist told me "never look at your work and call things in it "a mistake" Just say "next time I will do this or that"! or, not a mistake "it was a try that did not work" !!! I tell my children that. To your tips. The eyes, I know but I keep repeating the same thing. The skull and thinking about the back of the head. I will need to wrap my head around that. I see in my mind, as I write, an image, hope I can put it to work. The hair, wow..total awesomeness. Also you are so right! Your tips I would go on and not know figure those out. I appreciate with all my heart, the time and effort you give to help me. You are such a kind, caring and giving person. I am blessed to have you as a friend. SF community has helped me through many tough times. I love so many here. The list is growing. It is a place to help and be helped. Thanks Gerry for all you are. L2U and Hugs~Babs
Me too :)
Well, about lovin it part, I cant animate xD
DOWN WITH THE DEVELOPERS!!! GRRRRR :(
thanks super lot for cheers and the comment on cub thingy :3
All to Nostalgia people back to the Disney Classic!
Hailed be DISNEY!
lol, that's interesting. x3

Thanks for the cheers and comments btw <3
LOL My changing pictures...I'm not proud. Not using a refernce picture, any thing is subject to change. A girl cam do that, can't she? :D At least folks seem to like it. LOL
Hi Gerry, I am MORE THAN READY FOR TIPS OF ANY KIND!!!! Please feel free to jump in and help. I am delighted you offered. DEFINITE YESSSSSSSSSS! TY so much!!!! Hugs
hi um.. well i have a friend that really needs help her name is iceyblaze and this person on sketchfu named kaitlnyb19 keeps copying her pictures! if you want to get ahold of iceyblaze ask her for her email or leave a comment on her profile! thank a lot! bye
May you ban this girl: http://sketchfu.com/kaitlnyb19. Please? She is destroying my drawings, she has
done it 3 times.
of course i asked the artist and she said yes
hi, thx for comments and cheers
and thx for the instructions
I dont get the zoom and the opacity option jet, but thank you
Hey there, Geri, I signed up at SparksPeople....you're right, the site is a tad confusing but I found my way around the maze and I'm ready to "GO"!!! Thanks again! LU...
Thanks for the message. I dont know what he was banned for either. But, thanks for trying! :)
My present was perfect..thank you so muc...x
Gerry, What a lovely thing to say. I have tried to apply all you told me in the beginning FU. . It impressed me you would take the time to add me as friend, then give me advice. It was great!!! I work hard as well. You are adear friend. Hug
I am slowly catching up on comments so I'll probably be back again, but wanted to say thanks, as Mort Drucker or Jack Davis is the pinnacle of characterizations IMHO. (Heck I would settle for a Dave Berg) Mad Magazine was my first art instructor, along with any newspaper police sketches, which worried my folks some finding sketches of Richard Speck in their 3rd graders composition book. lol. Anyway you read me like a book. :)
Anytime, Any draw. I would be flattered if you do. :) Oh, I discovered that both my landscapes are of Cape Cod. These are my first forays into drawing with reference pieces which is clearly evident when considering the goofy Fu Land landscape not being a referenced piece. lol. p.p.s. You can delete my last post below as you rightfully removed the wayward youth's embarassing rant. Or you can leave it, I have had stranger randomness attributed to me. :)
God Bless your selfish little heart...hardly selfish; but I won't go anywhere, I have friends here that mean more than I can express! I have to tell you, you top the list! You're my oldest; I should reword that....longest & dearest & wouldn't lose that for a second! But I will check out Sparks....thank you again, Geri, I'll keep you posted with my progress....Have a good night & remember LU a bunch! ~Sue
Wel, you sweet thang, if it was anything other than health issues, I absolutely would fugetaboutit...but I'm winded just going up & down stairs or if I have to walk any distance....I don't have a vain bone in my body, so yes, I really do have to lose....my daughter is my biggest supporter, next to my hubby. They continually mildly persuade me to get to the gym, go for walks, cut my portions....I suppose I should say occassionaly, not continually...well, enough to show they are concerned, not so much that it would be called harping. Well, today my daughter & I were on the phone & we got on the subject again. We both wound up crying & I promised her I'd get on track...so even though it's the weekend, I'm starting right now...not waiting until Monday. But I welcome your support as well... Love ya for it! ~Sue
Ahh to be 11 and clueless again. Lol.
your welcomes... :) could you try to get MakingADynamicscetch back on sketchfu? He was a really good friend, nd he was really nice... What happened..? Thanks again.
thanks fer cheers and comment :)
Hi Geri, thanks for the frozen grapes tip! Good idea....I'll try anything! I know there's lots of "hints", "tricks", "aides" that all work, it's just I don't stick with anything long enough...I'm a definite yo yo dieter! But I'll hand in there! Thanks again!
Thanks! I'm glad you noticed the reflections, I spent ages trying to work out what exactly would be reflected, then just gave up and drew something that seemed to look right. xD Artistic licence solves everything I guess.
She just never goes there anymore. I have not seen a post from her for many months. That is why I can tolerate it now. She and i had a terrible bout and yes, she would not let it go either. She thought I was out to get her, always accusing me of things, watched my posts at FG. The only thing I can figure out is that they took away her moderator position and she lost interest and left. Really do not know why tho. It is more pleasant there, at least for me, than it was with her there. Yes, some folks are not as kind, but I can overlook them. But lately, I have lost the urge to draw soo much there, maybe fu is getting back into my blood....LOL
Thank you so much for the cheers. :)
Though some of these friends are in scant evidence, admittedly - boy, looking below, I see it is NOT EASY being Moderator. Good work!
Hi Gerry - But no!!! I'd rather be here with you and Norah and Blorg and Suntan and Ferdi and Fuzzy and SmilePup and Rachel and LCC and Alice and Cooper and Late and Lapcat and etc.
Hi Ger, Thanks for the cheers and lovely comment on my draw. A different look for me. Hope you are hanging in there my friend. Hugs
thanks for the comment im still practicing!!!
Hello gerbear!
We had a good day trip ... ah yes, poo draws .... very sweet ... NOT. I'll hold down the fort for awhile ... go have some fun :D LU, 2!
Hi hon :) How was your day?
thanks for the comment on my drawing. :P
hug from me and a hello. the ms is very very bad at the last 6 months... I have very much pain. I hope I can paint again but my arms are not working anyumore cause arts inject me high in my neck - trying to solve the pains there but it did'nt worked out. the pain still there and my arms not working now since the injjections !! I dream about painting again - sorry for my story.!!! Now u know why my expressions are mostly so ... deep. cu and hug my friend. I hope I get back one day. x ferdi
I have made some major changes in my life... school is done (for now) and I have moved out of Oregon and back to eastern washington where my grown boys live. I miss the coast and trees and greenery, but i'll settle for the desert to see more of my kids. :)
I've been looking for a job (any job, right now) and was lucky enough to get hired at a craft store yesterday. It's only part time, but it seems like it will be fun and I love being around artsy/crafty people :)
So "how are you" is a good question... right now I am, nervous, excited, worried, adventurous, thrilled, worried (oh i said that)...it's all new to me and i'm liking it :) Plus I've lost 40lbs!! (and counting) So things are...um... great?! LOL

Congrats on your new adventure! I love your around the world theme! Your camp sounds like a very fun place to go. I wanna be a camper there!!!

Keep up the great work and i'll keep checking in (and hopefully drawing). Best of luck and hugs and positive energy going your way!
xoxo
Thanks so much for the nice comments, Gerbear! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I'm beat. XP I hope everything's going great with your art camp!

A present? Ooh, ooh, what, what, whaaaaat! :D :D :D
me, cursing? i wasnt cursing, the only time i was ever mean was when i asked someone to stop calling my hard work gay, and someone else copying my friends drawings and making fun of them, sorry, anyways...;3
Thanks for the cheers and the comment! =]
yea its a classic (:
Its funny because I never had any urge to travel out of the US, I felt we had everything right here. I took my son to show him there was more to life then work and just living day to day, I wanted him to see there was life beyond our banks, we were both taken in by it. My mother was supposed to go to England when I was 17, things fell apart so now my goal is to get her there before she can't remember she's even been away. This July I am going alone as my step dad's health is not good and she needs to stay with him, I'm hoping next year she will be able to join me, she would love it.
I'm going to primarily be staying in the Nottingham area with my good friend. I love the Scarborough, Whitby, Robinhoods Bay area and of course the city of York is amazing too. I've walked the streets of London so many times I now know the streets as well as my hometown, lol. I really love the country and hope to make many more trips, I've promised each of my kids a trip and two have chosen England their senior year of high school, I have one son left to take. I hope you get there someday, its an amazing place and there is so much to take in, the history and the architecture are WOW....and the people are so friendly.
Oh duh, it wasn't babs, it was Miss A.....I am getting pretty daffy in my old age.
I know exactly what you are saying so if you can think of anything you want me to take a photo of while I'm over there I'd be more then happy to in July *wink* its a wonderful place to visit and someday I might get to either stay or bring something wonderful with me permanently =O)
thanks so much for the cheers and comments! :D
Yeps, it's the Mascot of the school, and yep, I am gonna be majoring in art. It's so exciting ^__^
Thanks for the congrats x3
Thanks, Gerry - it's about my best so far. Too bad there isn't a free and easy program like this but with the tools of FG (except for automatic circles, etc.:))
Thanks my friend for your insightful, and meaningful comments. I have worked hard at faces. Not where I want to be, but I have made progress, I think. :)
I fotgot to mention earlier .. I really like your title of "its umm.. a thing" draw. If that game starts again, I'm in!
lol/ i am engrossed in the roudoudou story. 17 down.
Oh, I know, everything is relative and never easy to see when it's happening to yourself. Believe me, I know. xo
Thanks so much for the lovely comments and cheers. They really mean a lot to me. <33
Thanks for your kind comments Ger. Drawing does not come naturally to me so it's just a take it as it comes sort of thing. I have a wonderful lady to thank for her inspiration in getting me to express my creativity (no matter how limited) after a break of some 25+ years.
More soon........ maybe.
G.
umm my name is actually bekka lol, and thanks for the comments and cheers :)
thanks alot!~
Gerry I know for a fact that you could get a goverment loan that you would never have to pay back. They look for people in the field of helping kids first and formost. The first thing you would have to do is make your self a corporation, or non-profit. You could get a big fat boost for what you are trying to put together. If you want more info please e-mail me at lola_5@comcast.net. xox
Hi hon! I looked for an amber04 and couldn't find her, but I'll keep an eye out :)
Thankies for the comment. :)
I know, all so very scary, worrisome and difficult. It's the same here, too. I was trying to help you see the big picture and not just next month, but I understand the realities. xo
I know you are, Gerry! I seem to be saying all the wrong things today. You're not alone, anyway -- we are hanging on by the very tippy tops of our fingernails - and that's no lie.
BTW...I mean all I say about you and what I think will happen with your Artcamp!!! It will be a great success, in time. Once the word gets around. It will be fantastic! Hug
I know I am so fortunate. I am just having a little fun. I have four children. Sometimes privacy is an issue. They all live nearby. Grandchildren as well. DillonMan lives with us. Yes privacy....I will need to consult the Webster for that! Much better than being lonely for them. I must never take it for granted!!! :D
Well, wrapping it up for the night ... I'll be back (AHL BE BAK!) in the a.m. Sleep tight!
The trolls are back on the premises ... just showed two more the door; that's four just today, I think! Good grief :P
No problem. I'm patrolling right now...grrr I'm such a watchdog lol
Sure, I'll totally be undercover =D whatever you say, ma'am!!
Awwww he would entertain you. He lives a mile away, from my house. He still come in and says "Mom, what are you fixing me for breakfast"? or "What do you have to eat? / What's for Dinner"? Love him to bits. But he wants me to sit on the porch and talk to him every day all day. I would surely miss him if he didn't come around. Calls me numerous times a day, when he isn't here in person. I am a blessed woman, I know. Just banter with meno about my Mancamp and of course she reciporcates with her humor. TY on his looks. He is a sweet man. HE WILL BE 36 IN AUGUST!!! Woman have always been all over him. Sigh! Not good for him. :(
Yeppers ... M and A and me and you :D Unless they've snuck in some more we don't know about!
Re: Jr. Spy comment ... "groan" lol.
And...how can I possibly help? ;-) L8*
Yeah, it's been thankfully quiet here today ... I was here this morning and earlier this afternoon; quite a contrast from the weekend, to be sure :D Re: Camp; Don't freak out, honey! It will work out in its own way. Life is funny like that. HUG!
A bajillion thanks for all your comments and cheers!! You already know I'm susceptible to comment suggestions a.k.a mentioned landscapes yesterday and went straight to DaVinci, so when you say I'd be hogtied to a post ... I can't (yet) imagine what draw is to come. Lol. Thanks again as always
Thank you again for all your support. I don't get to draw as much as I would like but it's nice to have all the support when I do. I appreciate it.
Thanks Gerry for your comments and cheers.
Saw your comment to L8. It's easy to get intimidated doing landscapes once viewing what she can do with them. At least for me it is. I am goung to make an effort to do one in near future perhaps. Anyway I once was going from Dover to Belgium on a ferry and when we left everyone clammered to the deck so my friend and I went to see what was going on. they were all taking pictures and I was saying "Isn't that interesting the cliffs are very white in ..." Then it dawned on me where I was. lol. Duh.
;-)) L8*
Lot of thanks for seeing and commenting on my pics. But I want to hear some criticism. Hope, you are well, With love and regards,
omg! i can do photoshop like a pro
Nope, I've never met Switchfoot, that was a first! Jerome wasn't able to make it for the meet and greet, but my mom was able to get Jon, Tim, Chad and Drew together for a photo! How awesome is that! Here's a photo - the little bit of detail is in that thread too. ^_^ Here's the link: http://www.switchfoot.com/community/index.php?s=&showtopic=7382&view=findpost&p=337815
thanks Geri, happy to put a little smile on your face! I like doing those "cartoony" draws! They're easy & fun & make me happy too! Love ya, ~Sue

Peace out and happy Mothers' Day =D lol
Happy Mother's Day Ger. Enjoy every minute with your Mom today. You can make it up with Ted when he comes back!!!!! My Mom's gone 22 yrs. already, but she's never very far...My daughter Jill's husband Steve & my Bill are making a brunch for Jill, the girls, me & 2 of my sisters! I know we'll feel Mom there as well; she was a real character....to give you an idea, Meno strongly reminds me of my Mom...Get the picture?!!! Well have aglorious day, I hope it's as beautiful there as it is here today! Love ya, Gerbear! ~Sue

Got Cha!!! ;)
hey thanks for all the cheers and comments! i really appreciate it :) someone stoll one of my doodles again :(. hey, do you help run this place? if so, are you open to suggestions on what you could add to this site to improve it?
Hello again :) Yeah, I saw one of the warnings and went ahead and banned the "porn" ... what a lame-o! Banned another one about an hour ago. Issued a couple of warnings, too. Just a typical Saturday here :D
Ok, I have watched but will watch more. YOU ARE TELLING ME, YOUR LIPS AREN'T LINED IN BLACK? You must be kidding!!!! LOL
Thanks re: plastic surgery blond. LOL. I think Hugh Hefner called her for PlayBoy centerfold. :D
I agree with Babs! Gonna take a little break; been here on and off since about 8:30 :)
Thanks Gerry.
Gerry, I think given time you will be so over run with students, you will have to expand or set a limit. Once the parents know you and see what you can do for the students they will be beating at your door. An excellent reputation is the finest way. I know that will be yours. The qualities we all enjoy here will certainly draw the children and parents. They tell others, You are a shoo in. Hope your funds can carry you for a while. It will be fabulous I just know. The charity functions can only help. Net working is of tremendous value, as you know. Glad you have had such satisfing experiences in doing them. You hang tight, it WILL be a great success. Hugs.
Hi Gerry, You are working hard here at FU. You have such a wonderful personality and positiveness about you. It sets a tone for SF and is contagious. You were the formost one in the beginning, who made me feel I could learn and draw. I listened and tryed to appy all you suggested. I am very grateful to you for that. You are a lovely one of a kind. Don't change a thing about yourself. You are very respected and loved here. Thanks for your continued support for my art efforts. L2U Babs
On the ouch you asked about..I had my right arm from my hand to shoulder burned with hot oil 3 weeks ago and had to get skin grafts and all kinds of crap done ..really just no fun at all a pan flipped over on to me and I had not even turned the fire off yet ..so maaaaaaaa sniff sniff..thanks for asking hugs g-bear
Changed the email on profile as per your suggestion :)
Hey Bear lady :) ty for all the kind comments and cheers xox
Hi Gerry - thanks a million for visiting my gallery and being so supportive! We're really in survival mode here because we had to "help" the damn landlord with all the home repairs so he can pass the test and now we have to: a: put place back together again and b: make up the money that we lost last month. I'm so glad we're back in touch & will write as soon as I can. Btw, as a certified Art Instructor, you've probably noticed that I'm making a (belated) attempt to learn perspective. Any helpful hints (from you alone) are appreciated. Really!:)
oh, i forgot my name at youdraw is "none given"
hey thanks, and to answer your question i don't think you know me at youdraw... I hadn't been around for 3 years or so, i just dropped in to do a drawing and i saw one of your posts about this place. so glad i checked it out, nice software, great community. ..and now i seem to be addicted. thanks.
Tyou for all the cheers and the nice comments!
Gerbear, thanks for all the comments, we have a lot in common. I want to email you, can you email me and give me your email address. I will tell you what my neices family said about camp, share some of my paintings of bears and info too. email me at TheArtist333@gmail.com. Thanks
Hi pardner! Will be out of town most of Friday; will check in when I get back ... HUG!
thanks for the comments and cheers :)
i posted the answer to the digas-question beneath the drawing ;)
Gearbear, I just sent your site to my brother, who has a granddaughter who loves art. Her name is Ashlyn Cole, and I told them if they wanted to send Ashlyn to your camp this summer, I would help pay for it!
They live in Houston. Hope they contact you. Let me know, my brother's name is Mike McBride
G you know the only way to be is queen now queen of what is another ? but as long as we is queen of our world than dats how we roll
The logo will be great! Your works rocks, always. I'll be on and off here all day today; gotta run some errands in town soon. When do you sleep???
hey, thankyou for the comment explaining the situation. its true, i wasnt happy when i saw what the person did to my draw, its so disrespectful! but you are right that is is probably better that they scribbled over it so no one would look anyway rather than how others just steal drawings. i dont think thats right. i do like the way you can draw on others pictures as long as you do it respectfully.. im glad that you guys are thinking of ways to stop people stealing draws, its definitely not fair on the artists who drew them in the first place.. i have now added on my profile that i would like people to ask first before drawing on my pictures.. although im not expecting many to take notice.. thankyou for the huge compliment, im glad you think so! i think this site is becoming on of my favourites to draw on, its very friendly and there are some wonderful drawings on here
thanks again, green
LOL..You crazy bear!! I think I have to take the day off to catch up with all your cheers and comments!! lol..do not give it another thought, I know you are always There even if I don't hear from you. xo. :D
Yes, actually it loaded right up the first time I clicked NO, (I had been clicking YES and trying over) and had my socks knocked off. Thanks.
love your work. also thanks for dropping a line, and for letting me know about this place (from youdraw).
Well, my goodness, thank you for that deluge of praise :)
I'm glad you like the drawings, thanks as always, and take care.
Hey there gerbear...!!! Talk about someone I haven't seen in a while.. lol .. Anyways, Sketchfu is fixed for good then I'm back for good... Nice to hear from you and thanks for the C&C's.. As for my health, Well between work and school it's been a bit hectic so my stress levels have gone up a bit but hopefully with the right exercise and meds I'll be alright.. Hope your well also.. :)))
Pretty cool x3
By the way OMG CONGRATS ON BECOMING A MODERATOR =D

Well, darlin', the early bird is getting ready to close up shop for the night :) HUG!
Ger, thank you for the instructions on how to move draws into FUworld....I finally did it! Much appreciated....Have a good night! ~Sue
umm...... can i go to that art camp?????plz?????prettyplzwithcherriesontop
Hi Gerry. Another thank you for the cheers and hope you checked out the Queen's Plate link. And now after the KY Derby, seems we not only get in trouble for things we don't do up here...but for things we do!
" But in little more than two minutes on Saturday, Mine That Bird went from Canadian Champion to the King of Kentucky after unleashing an epic Derby shocker." (media hype) ;-P
Apparently he is a decendant of the famous horse, Northern Dancer (do you know that name?)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Dancer
The Q.P. is on Father's Day this year and going to be so packed that I hope if we do go, it'll be fun anyhow. There are no seats in the restaurant so we'll be in the regular seats.
Anyhow, thanks again for the gallery visit ;-) L8*
ur welcome!
I LOVE UR ART!
Hey hon ... sorry for the multiple emails, but I kept thinking of something else to add! :P
Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement! I appreciate any feedback from you...dont mind criticism either, am learning all the time and welcome tips. I am loving Sketchfu, very addictive. Thanks again and peace and love to you!! =^-o^=
Morning, Mz. Mod! lol..very cool, indeed!! Congrats to you. Fu is improving daily!! :D Question: All the print in FU is bold and larger this morning..did I have a power FUsurge (no other site is like this) or does everyone have that look now? Even the Fupage is just a bit too big for my monitor screen now!! =O xo
Thanks a lot for comments on my profile. You write so nicely! I would always expect your such valued comments. Pl. stay with me.
hey cutie, thanks for all the comments and cheers....how kind!! Yes we should , very late here now, and I am sick so I should be in bed. take care, talk later.
You are too much, gal ... all that viewing and those great comments and cheers. You are pure awesomeness :D HUG!
thank you for the add.
Hey, fancy meeting you here! :D Himself is all settled down in front of his telly, happy as a clam.
Now, Geri, I know I'm not a brainiac, but I'm not totally dimwitted! I need your help; I am trying to (by your suggestion) put my Fu pics into FUworld. I've read the how to's but am having little success! How does one "upload" a pic already drawn so I cn transfer it to Fuworld? Any "simple" explanation will be sooooo appreciated! I know how busy you are & believe me, there is no rush...whenever you can shoot me an answer is soon enough! thanks....~Sue
Well, I must tell you, Gerry, you have made me feel quite special to have taken so much time to go through & comment & cheer on all my pics you viewed. So much of your heart went into everyone of those comments & I will cherish them always. I thank you for your support, your praises & most of all you critiques. They all all valuable to me. Love you Gerbear!
Yes, it's true! I am starting my first lesson on the 19th of this month. I'm excited about it. Mu husband teahces tennis & I've become cclose friends with one of his students, Suzanne, who happens to teach painting. She was taught by Donna Dewberry. In any case, it is a "painting" class, not a drawing class. She made that clear! But she said I'll learn different techniques, using different brushes, etc....I guess I'll learn more about what I'll be doing once I start....But I'll keep you posted.
Hey Ger, Pomeranians are awesome little pups...we've had 2, one we acquired from someone ( long sad story) and had him 3 or 4 yrs & he was hit by a car....we were devastated. My husband bought me another one for our anniversary one year & we had him for several yrs. & he was stolen from our yard....Both dogs were not "yappy". They are so lovable & their temperment is very sweet. Very smart little things. If I ever got another dog, that would be my pick....but I think we're finished with pets....too hard to lose them.
actually, my granddaughter's friend, Shannon. She draws on here & I just saw one of her draws named "Give me a hug please......." I couldn't let it go by!
It is my great fortune that you yourself approached me to be my friends. I am no artist, but rather you tell me a nature-lover even being a master in this field. It is a great liberality on your part.I feel really very proud to be your friend. Many things are to be learnt from you. Hope, you will not dishearten me.Besides all, I give importance that we are friends. This Friendship I long for intensely. Here is my e-mail address - you may connect -subratabhattacharya34@gmail.com
Goodness... why don't I read before I post. Sorry about all the typos. :) BTW no one said anything about the draw of Strike a Pose. Heh Heh! Thanks for doing the Derby hat in such fine fashion. Beautiful hat!
You and Meno, on duty at SF. Glad I know people in high places. LOL!!!! Girl your refreshing rain of cheers and comments has done a lot to cheer me up!!!! I needed that in the worst way.I have been in a grump as of late. Meno knows. Your life has had too many twists and turns to not cocoon. I have done that and will again , I think. The butterfly must take flight as you say. Good for you. We must move ahead, what else is there that is acceptable? We are strong women, and we will not be defeated by life's challanges. Forwward we go!!!! Glad to post your camp. Wish I cold enroll Dillon and Savannah. BTW DillonMan won an award for art last month. At assembly he was awarde a certificate for achievement. He has an artist's temperment as well. Whew we are a bunch to reckon with. :D Your comments and cheers meen sooo much to me. You and Meno are the best. I am a lucky girl to have you as friends. Much love.x0x0x
P.S. Do we get to call ourselves the Mod Squad now? ;)
The Cavalry has arrived! Hey there ;D

Hi Gerry, I'm glad I'm hearing from you, thanks... I always appreciate your comments, there is a great experience and joy for me in reading them, truly. You know, my account was not working for a long time so I now missed it here very much, I think its interesting to note that I kind of went over my drawings again and I was always stopping at your comments, honestly I felt shame that I didn't thank you properly for them, so thank you for all the time you took for writing them, I do appreciate.
I noticed a big shift in the site, thanks to Matt and Andrew, but the onlt thing now is that I can't replay drawings till the end. even my drawing, and even that last one I cant see it, but anyway as long as you folk see it then I'm relieved :] Thanks again Gerry, hope everything is good with you...
Hi ya Gerry. Thanks for "good" spamming my gallery! ;-) I really appreciate all the cheers, comments and views. They were a joy to read.
As for the Queen's Plate you asked me about, it is a very famous horse race up here. I've been to a few of them and they are fun and fashionable. I don't wear hats well, so I go without. hehe.
I had my family birthday gathering there last year in Aug. for dinner and regular race. Lots of fun.
If you want to educate yourself a bit on the Q.P. please see this link.
http://www.woodbineentertainment.com/queensplate/
no problem! :D he, well I don't think you missed anything, it's been a while since my last drawing :D
Lol, yeah. I'm glad the lag monster was slayed.
Hey Gerbear! Thanks for the comment and the cheers!
I just got back to sketchfu recently, so I figured I should draw something.
Thanks for your full amount of cheers and witty comments ! Hope your art camp goes well ! :)
Ommmmmmmmm .... heh heh! Well, we are on the same wavelength, for sure :D You under water there in Houston, Tex? Weather does not look good :( Stay afloat ... love ya!
Wow, You're my new best friend. All those wonderful comments and many many cheers make me so excited to do some more drawings. I appreciate so much, you taking the time to look at my work. Thanks!!!
:-D thanks for the comment and cheers!
A personal "Thank YOU" for taking the time to look at my drawings and the many positive comments you have made. I'm glad you're here too!
I left a comment for you, but i left it on MY profile. Such a dork. X]
Arrrgh!..well, it's still early. People are always looking for summer things to do. Have you sent fliers into the local schools, nursery schools, day cares and also church bulletins? Good luck with it!!
haha, I really should add an "s" to that title, might be a bit more apt..thanks for the visit and the link suggestion.;P
Mwaaaaah and I'm outta here for the morning!
Haha, well it was very hypnotic at times, but then there were some lines that took three or four attempts to get in the right place and kind of broke my zen... this is where the obsessive compulsive qualities step in I guess. =) And of course you can use this as a background; It's not much use for anything else other than showing how many straight lines I can draw in one sitting!
It stops today for Memorial Day and stopped also last week For Holocaust Day but tonight....FIREWORKS to celebrate Independence Day. A friend in Tel Aviv. huh? Thanks for the cheers and comments.
Hi Gerry, You are so kind with your encouragement. You have done so much to promote the tone and spirit of friendship here on SF. Your friending me in the beginning was so instramental in my continuing here and never giving up. I recall all the advice and apply it on every draw. You are so right, we all learn from each other. You are a valuable asset to the artist wannabes here. Don't ever change, we love you just the way you are. x0x0x Babs
You're very welcome! I'll be crossing my fingers for ya'!

Hugs,

Robin
HELLO??!
Gerry!

Well, I'm trying to be back. I've only got a couple of more days that I can sub for
the schools this year so I may have more time for my art for awhile unless I can find
something full time.

How's the art camp coming along? Hope it's going well.

Huge hugs atchya'!

Robin
also how long did it take you to make the 'chillin out picture' it seems it would have tooken days!
Hi, it's me (the one who asked to steel ur drawin')
i ment steal the Idea of that, not really copy it!
besides i tried then faild, it's that simple.
but i seriasly like ur drawings they r awsome!
Aw, hon, June is more than a month away and a lot can happen in a month :) Hang in there! HUG!
Oh Gerry, (hug, hug!!!:)) so good to see you! I'll email you so that we can catch up on "that other stuff."
thanks im sad i dont know why? the sadness gives me aches in the throat.hehe
Thanks so much for the comments and cheers ^^

Heehee, at first I thought my blue drawing might have been a panther or something, but now that you mention it it does seem pretty bearlike ;D
Heh, well I guess in some ways it's a good thing yeah. Market street is more that 150 lines though, I know that much... urgh. Must get on with that soon! Thanks for the cheers and comments!
Gerry, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the *HUG* Means a lot! I was on FB nut deactivated my account after seeing a news report...saying "hackers" can use the info there for fowl play. It wasn't that there was critical info, but they mentioned what some weirdos can do with photos...I think I'll go back on again but leave out a lot of things....I'll look for you! Love ya, ~Sue
Hey, Gerbear.

I have thought occasionally that a "fave" section would be nice, yeah. I am also loathe to suggest things that complicate the site, though. *There is a power in simplicity* that it is very easy for websites to lose (disease is called "featuritis"). I'm not sure. I think it would help in a few of the cases that trouble you, but probably not all of them... I dunno. The mindset of somebody who draws very little, or erases a little, and then saves the drawing (without otherwise adding to it) is different enough from my own that it's hard for me to guess what they would do. I think some of them do it to "bookmark", though. One way to add bookmarks without too much complication is just to have a list of drawings one has cheered; after all, that information is stored somewhere already.

Also, you were pretty clear to me that you didn't mind remixing. We had a pretty good conversation about that (you even mentioned your Judy Chicago collab: in case I never told you, yes, I know who she is, admire her work, and I think it's cool that you worked with her.) You made a case that, for you, it's more complex than simple opposition to remixing, which I can appreciate.

There's nothing wrong with page view ego. I can understand that, I have it myself. I've thought about systems for managing that without infringing on important freedoms, but this is turning into a huge essay-comment already. Email me (in my profile) if you really want convoluted thoughts on that.

now I need to get off the internet and go do stuff :)
Thank you for your cheers!!!! Moms are the best!!!!
:D we just like to give advice, I guess.
OHHHH MYYYYY GOODNESSSSS! I'm in shock and feel so honered that you went through so many of my drawins! Wow!! Thank you geri~you made my day with all of your wonderfully encouraging comments!!! I love how supportive you r and have been since day #1 !!!!! WOW!!!
We are SO addicted to the intertubes! I'm glad I'm not alone ;D
8 lbs.! w00t! Good for you, girl. I've GAINED 3 lbs.! :P See you at Facebook later ... gonna be shutting down the 'puter for the night shortly.
I maded you a cookie! Being digital, it's carb free and calorie free. Also tastes like crap, but whaddaya want?? ;D
And thanks for the sweet and clever comments and cheers, hon!
OK ... you are officially added to my Friends list ... HUG!
Gerry Bear, of course! ;D I go by my real name there. I'll look for you!
Thanks for the comment on my Call of the Sea... The thief steals others. Shameless!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is believing it amyway? Makes no sense to me. Well if I have arrived, at least it is something!!!! The zstrike took two. She has one of Sunsi's and others She removes our signature and says it is hers.
Thanks Gerber ^^
By the way I think merdragon sounds a bit better..teehee...x3
THank YOu OH So Very Much Gerbear for taking time out to cheer & comment something I have had little time to do. :^P
I'm looking forward to it! Thanks again for hanging in there...
I can't find an Isabel on your list. Either I am blind or she goes by a different name... both a possibility.
Thank you for the cheers, comments and invite.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I trimmed down the profile friend lists a bit -- didn't realize how popular you guys were getting ;)
Need to go to bed, after 2am here but will for sure try it in the AM...I make very heavy draws and have always struggled with it. Will get back to you. Am SO thrilled about the changes!!!!
Hey Gerry, I put in some work tonight on fixing the lag while drawing. Mind trying it out and telling me what you think? Thanks!!
I told him so. :> It could work.
I'm so happy to see so many people filtering back in! :) Your art camp sounds amazing! How's it working out for you?
I did get to talk to Andrew, but it was mostly about information for advertising. Can't make the site bigger and better if you can't pay for it, so I guess that's awesome too. :D He gave me no hints whatsoever...but I didn't ask either. *laughs* I'm positive he'll call you!
Hey thnx 4 the commetn on my profile!!! im not actually 14...im 13....lolz
hey thanks! =3
Odd, I thought you were on my list too...
hmm, well you are now at least x3
Such a kind thing to say. I think the kindest people in the world are right here on sketchfu. It has been tough but we are slowly moving on. I have been doing some things to the house to stay busy and change the atmosphere a bit. Put in Hardwood floors that he and I had been talking about. Changing my living room completely. Gonna put in a set of french doors to the new add-on to our house that has been "in the works" for almost 10 years!! I'm gonna have that finished and just make the house a bit diff so that it helps us move on. Hard after 27 years, but we really don't have any choices. but we're doing ok, pretty much. Thank you so much for your concern. Things are what makes it easier to get by...knowing so many people care. Thanks again. :)
Hiya Geri :)

Good to hear you liked my anims! It was lots of fun to make them too. Using Adobe Flash CS3; my uni got a licence for the CS3 package in november so I just gave it a shot, and loving it loads! Still have a lot to learn about animation.. giving weight to a char, lighting, timing.. lots and lots :) But that's part of the fun really, isn't it?

Oh btw, not sure if I've put a link for this one here, but this was my first Flash anim: http://jeroen.dendekker.com/Flash/yellow_snow_2009.swf

The anim took me so long I didn't get to send it till newyear's eve (was supposed to be a christmas card).

If you're really interested in animating in Flash, this link is great: www.keyframer.com. Especially the breeze presentations are wonderful. There's also a really nice forum attached with very helpful (and talented) people.

Give it a shot if you get the chance, it's so much fun :)
Fizzy
Heya Geri. Just saw your comment on my froggie; was just a doodle to see if I still knew my way around the sketchfu tools :)
I have tried to come back here from time to time but 75% of the time (maybe more) I couldn't even get to the site at all, I thought Matt and Andrew had pulled the plug, to be honest. When I did manage to log on the lag was so bad I could barely look at any pics, let alone draw. But fortunately they seem to have improved things greatly; It'll actually be fun to draw here again! :)
Only thing I have to get used to is that drawings that you delete are automatically gone entirely.. so no deleting WIPs because you don't want anyone to see them yet. If that's what it takes to have Sketchfu up and running smoothly, I'm happy to adjust though :)

Take care, ttyl.
Fizzy
Hi Gerry, Thanks darlin for ALLL THOSE CHEERS AND COMMENTS. You are a busy lady, and that time is appreciated. Hugs
thanks for the comments/cheers. yeah, i'm glad to be back, and yeah, life can be tough, but like you said, if we hang on tight, it'll be okay :] good luck with the camping issue D:
Hey there, you squooshable thang, you! ;D
Thank you very much my friend for comments and cheers.
Your very welcome.
Just spoke to the A-man himself ... like I said to him: "Nice to put a face and a voice to FU" ... ;D
Hunni-bear! (Babs is "hunni-kin" 'cos she has kindly adopted me ;D) ... hoping Andrew and Matt can figure out why people's draws keep disappearing into the ozone :P
I put the link on my profile. Now I will go to FB abd add. Are you on FB?
Okay, I am on bebo, FB, Twitter, Queeky, 2draw..under another name. I am signed in to some others, but not much on some. I will work on it... how about flickr?
Gerri, Thanks for your continuing support with cheers and comments. You have influenced me and so many. I will consider it a priviledge to add my drawing site links to your site.
Hi Gerry, I am so delighted you and Greta have started your camp. Only wish my DillonMan and Savannah could be a part of it. He likes art an
d so does my 12 yr old Savannah. see is showing remarkable talent. Her mother has a "portfolio" o f her work from her beginnings.
Thanks for the add. I love your drawings you are a great artist. I will cheer and comment when I can. :)
Your jazzed-up web site looks great, Gerry ... and I love the pic of you and Greta; you're so cute, you're squooshable! ;D
can you teach me how to be a great artitist
Hey, Red! *happy dancing*!!! Or, as Grace Slick would call it, "Sh*t dancing" ... I am so uncoordinated ;D If Andrew's got a link and asking for input, I guess he's serious ... w00t! Something to look forward to, definitely. HUG!
Hey teach!

Got the letter from Jill. So cool that things are looking up and that the boy's new girl is an art major! Good luck with the show too! You can do it!

Luv & hugs!

Robin
I understand your nervousness but if you have a fraction of the confidence that all your Fu Friends have in you; you'll be a smashing success. I, for one, know you're going to be just fine! And my family is doing OK, Gerry, we're supportive of one another & that's the biggest help of all. Plus so many people continue to ask how things are going which make me know they're thinking of all of us & that's a comfort as well. You are so sweet for caring so much! But that's a simple Gerbear trait! Love ya. ~Sue
I added a link to your art camp on my profile, as I noticed others are doing. It's not much but every little helps. =) I hope the google elves push your site that little bit closer to the top; Best of luck with the project!

Thanks for the cheers, the continual support, the compliments and constructive comments! Ever tried drawing a Teddy Bear in perspective? THAT I've tried and couldn't do... perhaps we should team up? xD ...or maybe I should avoid working in videogames involving bears =p

Thanks again, and have a great Easter!
I added your Art Camp to my links at Facebook ... hope that helps :)
Hi hon! Well, the way you describe it, the "NewFU" sounds more fun than is probably legal ... if not a tad confusing ... ha! But I'm easily conFUsed :P I just joined Facebook and still trying to figure that out; what's one more internet addiction amongst friends? ;D I agree with Gracie and Sunny and Robin ... without the INTERTUBES we'd all never have met and shared such great times and made so many fine friends; whatever happens with FU, I am eternally grateful for that ... HUG!
Woohoo!

Really glad to hear you're okay and have just been busy organizing your new art camp!
Kudos to you and Greta! I did place a link on my profile here and will try and see
if I can't find a site or two elsewhere where I can place it.

Hugs to my friend & Mentor!

Luv ya'!

Robin
I see you two are reminiscing..I'm going to jump in and say ditto to it all. We have had a blast at YD over the years. That was such a small close community feeling over there..now we're spread out, but so good to be able to touch base no matter where. Like a tap on the shoulder!! Hey You! haha...<3
Anyway....did you see the news that Meno drew? Chris is well, took a break and busy painting. Very good news...take a look at what Meno had to say, IF you haven't already...and see you soon XO :)
Oh, haha, almost forgot. I know it's hard and sometimes impossible with the lag to visit everyone but ty for the visit to Millefiori..all of the designs you girls have done over the years were my inspiration! :)
Hi Ger, Just got your warm message, thank you! It doesn't matter that we are not in contact everyday via YD or SF or any other internet avenue....we all have a greater connection called LOVE. And wouldn't a reunion be a blast! Stay well & be happy...we'll see each other someday! ~Sue
Hey Ger....my mistake; we've not yet reached 5 yrs.....you made your first comment on one of my draws on Aug 31 in '05.....so this coming August will be 4 yrs. that we've known each other....it seems like I've known you a lifetime. You've been an inspiration for me as well as a teacher & most importantly of all a friend! I'm honored! Love ya, Gerbear....
Hi Ger, I've been seeing how busy you are in your new venture...I'm wishing you all the best. Just wanted to pop in & say hello to my longest running friend....we've passed 5 yrs. already, Gerry. SketchFu has given me so much but I think the friends I've made are the biggest bonus! Stawy well & again the best to your new art school!!!!
Heh heh ... once in awhile I do figure it out; usually by accident! Keep me posted, hon ... HUG!
Um; was trying to figure out how to add a link to my profile here (as requested) but am too technically 'tarded to do so!
Oh ... I just read the info about the camp above! D'oh.
When is your art camp slated to start, Ger? Maybe the home folks are waiting 'til the last minute to sign their rug rats up and fork over the bucks? Re: Andrew; yeah, I seem to have good luck getting him to write back .... luck of the draw, I guess ... pun intended ;D I am more than a little freaked out about Chris; it's just not like her. But I am SO looking forward to having a site where we can congregate and not have our stuff blow up in our faces!
Gerry Beary!! Mwaaah and a big ol' Bear HUG!!!!
Hey, Gerbear,

People come and people go, eh? I was worried you would never be back. Online communities are really quite fragile: delicate nets, and easily torn. This one has become important to me beyond expectation. The link between people is much more important than the drawings themselves, which after all I could do on my own without the internet.

All of this is a roundabout way of saying "Good to see you, you are not lost on the digital wind that often sweeps people away." You have the friendship of me and many here. I tend to be reserved online (can be both good and ill) but: My name is Stefan and it is good to see you and I hope you draw more. :)
Hey, Gerry!:) So good to see you!!!:D
Don't even worry about my gallery...I know you looked..good 'nuff. Just get settled and back. Time is too valuable to weed through it all, just start drawing!! :D
Yes, i'm a "nutty one" who misses your work, so i decided to go back to your older pieces to get my geri-fix!!! I love the little logo on your profile! It's great, eye catching and looks like a ton of fun! If i lived closer, i'd join up along with my 7year old son. Do you teach kids, or just us "older-kids??!" :) (Because my son is an only child i'm always looking for activities for him.) For example,if i saw your new art\camp\workshop\class around my town...it would most deffinitly catch MY EYE! I just know that you and your friend will sucseed!!!!!!!! You have sooo much passion for what you do that it's contagouse(i have no idea how to spell half the things i write, but oh well. I got over it a year or so ago!) Man, do i ramble on or what?!!! :) :) :) Anyways, thanks for your sweet as always messeges geri. Oh, one last question. What's going on with your health? (if your sick of talking about it just nix my question-i understand) Love ya' GF!!!!!
Hey, Tex! Back online and missing you! Come out and play! HUGS!
Miss you!

Lots of hugs!

Robin
XO, gerbear. Thinking of you.

an e-mail at my yahoo addy. Get some rest and get well soon!

Love ya'!

Robin
Hey Geri, good to see you. Love to keep in touch with all of my old drawing freinds. So sad about FG tho. Been doing some stuff at 2draw but just not the same. I see this place is a little better now. What took them so long and what did they do to improve? Buy more space? Happy new year and I hope that you are well but I see that there may be some health issues. Hope they all come out well and you continue your great art!!
Ger, Please be in touch as soon as you know anything....I'll be waiting to hear & be praying for good results. Hope you are feeling better very soon. Love ya, ~sue
Hi, Gerbear! Happy New Year to you too. :) Yep, I'm 17...will be 18 in a few months, and then off to college. I hope you're doing ok, and I'm glad to see that Sketchfu is up and running a little bettter than before. I'd very much enjoy conveniently drawing here again. ^_^ There's a charm to Sketchfu that just can't be equaled by Photoshop's grand scale.
Hey, thanks for the cheers, and yeah, the party's a blast! SketchFu rave!!
Ger!!! So good to see you here!! You have been greatly missed!! I hope you are well and everything is ok with you...we were all worried with the hurricanes and all. I have been away, myself, for a little while...broken wrist and torn meniscus in my knee. It was horrible and very annoying to say the least, but the cast came off last week and the knee is better and may not need surgery. Time will tell, but PT seems to be working. (i hope) I saw you got your answer about Christine, so good for you to know she is well and just disconnected from us for the time being. Anyhow, love that you are back with us and love and hugs and all the best for a happy and healthy 09!. XO Sun :D
ciao bella so many cheers and compliments...wow love it
im from tomball :D
Yes darling, I recieved your wonderful email, and have replied. You are such a caring loving person Gerry. A friend to all. I am still here, I think due to your adding me as a friend, and ALL THE THINGS YOU SAID TO ME. You may not remember, but I do. You are such an encouragement to us artist wannabes. If you start a site. Such a success it would be I believe. I don't know how you could do your art though, and run all the features you envision. Maybe you could start simple and add as time and circumstances permitted. I will talk with you msn. You are a dear soul and an example to us all. Much love to you always. Thanks for being you. I hope you can cheer up soon. Grieve your lose and then move on to other wonderful pursuits. You felt it was time for changes. As we know life is forever changing. Embrace them and carry the lovely memories of the things you have done. They are after all, a sum total of the lovely person you are today. Your tomorrows are awaiting your footprints. Move forward and start leaving them, dear friend. You are well loved by so many. May our friendship grow with respect, warmth, and love. Hugs and much love. Barbara
Gerry, I read on lazyeye you quit your art camp job. Awwww I know that is a real lose for you. You were just telling me how you were preparing for it. A real surprise change. I am very sorry about it. I closed a consignment store due to health problems. It is emotionally painful to give up something you love doing. I know you are grieving at this time. I hope you feel better soon. Love you. Big Hugs
Hi Geri!! I really appreciated you sharing with me the sad story of Lucus. My heart hurt when reading about such a terrible thing as this. Now i can really see why the draw of the angel had such peace in her blue eyes.Gosh,i can't even imagine what the family must b going thru? :( I'm so happy to hear from you though**I was missin' you, ur ever encouraging comments, your art, your lil' bears and your sweet nature! My mother is having surgery on her nose 4 the 3rd time next week (due to her 2nd round of cancer)...her breasts were first. She is my best friend and i draw sooo much of my own strength from HER. You remind me of her a lot! She has seen and enjoyed MANY of your pieces!!! Anyways,it's always great to hear from YOU! Thanks for having me "vent" a little in this message:) HUGS right back ay ya*******
Thanks Gerry for your continued support. You helped me from the get go and are still doing that. You have done so much to help us artist wannabies. Thank you for that! Big Hugs for your lovely spirit!!! Plus your fine example!
Yep, thanks, this is my drawing for my icon, it was supposed to be of Barbara Feldon from "Get Smart." I never published anything outside of Studio One except for many entries in a studio called "Who Am I" which I just adored. Think that studio was the idea of the brilliant (and beloved) Emigre's. Meanwhile, feel I've gone "one step forward and two steps back" and all this has been just so depressing but I guess this is the time to persist?
Hi Ger, thanks so much for the comments on the pics. I had the girls here for the whole weekend. Paige always wants to draw on sketchfu. I'm glad. Both girls love to draw. Hope things are going good in '09 so far for you. I'll be popping in & out so I'm sure I'll be seeing you around, my dear friend!
lol! You must have a Wacom! I'm sure it's just the pen - thanks for all the c&c - just getting my feet wet again here - way out of practice and a little spoiled by the tools on the evil site - oops, did I say that? Meant on the OTHER site
Hi Darlin'
Robin emailed that you had been asking about me, thank you so much for thinking of me - it's nice to be remembered.
I have been popping in every now and again but life has been difficult from September through December. I am feeling much better recently but can't remember when I last drew anything. Last time I went to FG I was shocked to find Grace was talking about closing the site - I've no idea what happened but she seemed very upset.
I'm using a Macbook now and haven't sorted the pen and tablet so may not be drawing for a while. I suppose I could try with the track pad . . . hmmmm
Much love
Christina
~~x~~
I sent Xina an e-mail and asked her to pop in and say hello. ;)
Ya' know, I haven't seen Xina in awhile either....let me see if I nabbed her addy
from FG....if I still have it I'll let her know you'd like to hear from her.

Well, I need to go stick my head in the dryer....ouch!....lol.

Yack atchaya' later!

Robin
Thanks for the cheers & comments. Wow it's an honor then to hear your input. It will only help me.
I used to draw when I was younger, it's been like fifteen years since. As i stumbled upon this site I was marveled by how this site replayed draws. I was sucked in to draw again and with learning the tablet tools I'm developing slowly, calmly, patiently...
So any help is a plus. :) Thanks
Hi Gerry - The other account is a thing of the past. & I think it might be quicker w/o all the deleted drawings, which are many! I was thinking that maybe all these Circuit Cities going out of business might have Wacoms cheap - or what about ebay? I got a new pen for mine from the Wacom site, without having to buy the tablet...Good to see you! -sure hope you can get another drawing tablet soon! - J
Hey teach!

Well now, you warned us about what FG might become. You were right. I have all of a sudden been dumped from their studio portion of the site without warning stating that I didn't draw there enough. In fact, that's true enough, I have been doing most of my drawing offline these days. I would've thought that those that called me a friend at any given point would've treated me as such. So, I too am left a little bitter and doubtful I will ever go back.

I am thankful I went there though. I did have a good experience in the beginning and had some fun learning and sharing.

They do have some great applets. I'll miss those, but, thankfully, I still have contact with those I would still call friends. The list may be shorter than I thought, but, in every garden you have to do a little weeding now and then huh?.....lol.

Extra hugs for my mentor.....and friend! Bless you!

Robin
Ah good to hear from you again! =) I don't think the lag is quite as bad as it once was, although I might've just developed an unnatural patience for glitches and long loading times after being here so long... oh well. I'm doing fine thanks, looking at universities and things to do in my gap year. Life is new and bewildering! Hope everything is great over there in Texas too, and good luck getting a tablet! =)
thanks :D but that's not me.. meekakitty.. i just found her on youtube and i also think she's hilarious.. so i decided to draw her.. but i don't know her.. sorry to disappoint you ;) i'm far from being a model :P xx
It's funny how I got that all wrong from that picture. Dogs are quite desirable if their not yapping all the time. I'm glad you like yours.
Hi Geri, Well I have been looking and commenting at 2draw. Not drawn there. They can be nasty to folks, and launguage is shocking,ng so ha sometimes. There must be a better solution.Grace is staying as owner of FG. LONG AND NOT SO PRETTY STORY. The subject best discssed in private. If you want more info email me MSN,
Thanks so much for your support in my art efforts. Your input has been a big part of why I started working so hard. The lovely friends here and then at FG have been wonerful. I grew a lot at FG. All the friends remarked about it. They were all awesome to me. It was a loving, warm, community of friends. It wasn't what G envisioned her site it to be. Now it will be by invitation only me membership. Later
Thanks for your cheers and kind comments. I wish you a happy new year. It's nice to see you here again.
Yeah Somewhat the same. I still give credit where credit is due too, though the Creator gets all the credit in the world & universe, that's why I point to Him.... :)
Sorry I didn't get around to it soon enough to add you. I'm all for it, don't get me wrong. As for my profile saying It's OK too to disagree but keep in mind it is written in scripture: I am the Lord thy God ,
who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt (Mizrahim), out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt not have any other gods besides me
Thou shalt not make for thyself any graven image
(carved idol) or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; thou shalt not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, punishing the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those that hate me; but showing mercy to thousands of generations of those that love me, and keep my commandments.
Hi Geri, Thanks for the C and C's. I feel like a lost puppy looking for a good home. I am doing all my drawing here at the moment. I am a bit at odds with how to proceed. I see there are a lot of FUers at 2draw. Seems like a nice place. But,can't bring myself to draw there. I have done quite a few draws at Queeky. I liked the close intimate community of FG, as well as the tools. Of course I perfered the FU of old. Alas, they both are no longer available to me.
Hi "Gerbear"! Thank you very much for your cheers and comments....I really do appreciate it. It's great to see you here again....I hope to see more draws by you! I haven't drawn anything new here in quite awhile, because I lost a couple of nice draws that I was working on....they just disappeared into "cyber space"..."LOL"! I just stop by here once in awhile, to see what's new....and I'm also trying to "fix up" all of my draws here. I recently got a new computer, and it has a 32 bit resolution....and I did all of my draws here with my old computer with a 16 bit resolution.....and now, with my new computer, all of my draws here look drab and faded out. So....little by little...I'm trying to "touch up" all of my draws...."LOL"!! I hope you had a very Happy New Year.....and I'm glad you're back, and hope to see more of your artwork!! :)
Hi babygirl! thanks for the new years greeting Geri, lol, where have you been hiding? I sent you a couple of e-mails and never heard anything back! I am pouting...lol, jk, btw my daughter in Dallas just got married this past fall! yeah to a texas boy, and now I will never get her back home, though she did come in for new years with her hubby, we love him, he is just the sweetest man. We also got news the day she left that she is pregnant! Oh yes, she took a home pregnancy test before she left for the airport, lol, she kept saying she thought she was pregars, lol, because she felt horrible, she is only 5wks, but it is her first and she is the last of the kiddies to give me a grand child. lol. I hope you are doing fine! I stopped by to do a draw, every once in a while I get the urge to see what everyone is up to. I hope you still have my email address, would love to tell you more. I see it was your b-day, happy, happy, unbirthday...I know you are getting younger no? sending hugs-terry
Heya Geri.. I just popped in to say hi and see if anyone was still around. Last couple of times I've tried FU was simply too laggy to do much :( Seems to have improved a bit (or I'm just lucky right now). Too bad, I really enjoyed the community here. Anyway, I wanted to wish you a happy 2009 and I hope you'll make many more lovely drawings :)

Take care!
Fizzy
Hey my sweet friend. thank you for your heartfelt words about Lucas. I'm sorry for what you had to go through to finally get your wonderful son. I know how much he means to you. Cherish him & everyday you have to share with him. True; Lucas wasn't here for very long but he he made good use of his time by melting right into our hearts. And there he will stay. No one can take that away. We will all get through & eventually remember him without sadness & just bask in the joy that we had him, held him & loved him. Just say a prayer for his Mom & Dad who are having the hardest time right now. They are supportive of each other & I'm grateful for that. Bless you, Gerry & I'll be in touch again soon. Love, ~Sue
Thanks Gerry for your comment and cheers. Great to have you back here with us. Happy new Year. Hugs
Last I heard, Gillie (Laura) and her son were going to start working on the "transfer of power" over at FG starting today; I think KuteDymples and a couple of others are involved also. It was getting to be such a confusing and dramatic situation, that I'm taking a break from it for awhile! Right now, plain ol' FU is looking pretty good. LATE said her browser is Mozilla and she doesn't have the lag and tech problems the rest of us seem to have. Maybe we ought to check into that. Anyway ... when I joined FU it only had a little over 5,000 members ... now look at it! Over 30,000. FU is overwhelmed!
