Hello QT. I knew you were here, just never got around to seeing your work yet. Something I will do over the next few weeks. I am just hanging on to the little community that trawls the 'net showing their skills. As for drawing, no I don't in particular. I draw like my kids so don't expect anything serious from me. Hehe. The drawing of Fuzzy's smoking laptop was altered by me in one very subtle way if you watch the animation right to the end. Where she signed her name she drew a sad face instead of her usual smily. I altered it to a smily, it looks better on her, hence the title. I take no credit for anything else. See you around, here or FG.

Hi QT...i hven't talked to you much, but i was just looking at a pic that came up on featured or recent pics..it was a pic of fred astair and ginger rogers, i think, and i was gonna make a comment about how lovely it was..and there were a few other comments about how this person has just taken your name off and put theirs on. I don't know if you know about this, but i added a shame-on-you comment also. the name used to re-sign it was cloeX or something like that. i just wanted you to know that i really like the pic and also wanted you to know that someone had put their name to it..such an ugly thing to do..anyway..nice work!

Please please please do comment and give suggestions . They are always welcome - especially from an artist of your calibre. I took no offense, sorry if it sounded as if I was being defensive. It's been such a struggle with this portrait. When I watch the replay I see have tried to make the contrast stronger at least 4 or 5 times - and each time I lost it again by blending. I admire artists who can put bold strokes and not worry about the 'join'. Somehow when it's finished the eye somehow discounts all the overlapping shades and just recognises the features. I just don't seem to be able to do it - I think I maybe a bit obsessional about it. I agree that it doesn't look right but I think its because I've 'muddied' the whole thing too many times. I'm not sure it can be rescued although I haven't given up yet.
At Ginko they have the Odeki Shi Painter as well as the PBS program. It's much more sophisticated than Sketchfu but I seem to be learning it quite quickly.

My brain goes 90 miles a minute, I draw all day at work, come home and get to relax and draw what I really enjoy doodling. Jumping from sketch where I do quick draws and then over to 2draw to do the more extreme detailed draws, love so many features of each site so I'm a bouncer, besides, the people here are awesome and I love the comments and cheers, makes you feel like you are doing something people really enjoy. Hows the snow up there? I'm sooooo ready for spring here, another 11 inches on the ground UGH!

Yes, I saw in your profile you and starz, gel_o and jpjp were over there so I went back to take a look. It's a great site but I haven't sussed out the navigation - it seems far too complicated! - and SO huge! I don't know how to find anybody. There are some incredible artists there but I still prefer Ginko - much more user-friendly . . . I've been recommending' Ginko as an alternative for folks leaving here so we can keep our community together but I can see the appeal of a bigger site for some folks.
I wouldn't even think of leaving if Matt and Andrew were 'on board' but I guess they have moved on . . . The other thing I like about Ginko is the facility to upload drawings from other sites. I love having my art together so I can see how I've developed over the last seven months or so since I found Sketchfu and started drawing. Maybe it's possible to do that at 2draw but I haven't found it.
BTW - I'm not sure the shadows are too dark if you look at the original. I'm trying to accentuate the contrast but every time I try to blend it in it just goes 'bland' again. I've been working on another b/w portrait over at Ginko as an entry for the Jam competition - nine hours! My hand is complaining but I think it's much better than this one. I would love you to take a look:

Thanks for the comment! I used to draw at 2draw- but I got criticised for drawing too fast! I even had work bumped to beginner because I hadnt spent enough time on it! Bet they would have done the same with picasso! BTW have you seen the new sign in page here when you post a drawing? I just almost got caught because i had forgotten my password! argh- luckily remembered it,,, wish I remembered to go to the home page here- maybe theres info? Hugs

Really miss you my friend. Glad you are happy at the darkside but I was there last nite when FU crashed, looking at friends galleries and still feel the atmosphere is not what I enjoy. I can use Photoshop if I want those kinds of tools or experience. I do draw offline iwth Paint shop pro or Photoshop so 2 draw does not give me anything I cannot get somewhere else. It is not sour grapes, you know (based on Aragorn and the bubbles) that I can photorealism with the best of them whenever I feel like it, but I just cannot stand the unasked for critiques. I didnt really get negative feedback while i was there but many others did and still do. Well anyhow, you are very much missed.

No we never chatted on bebo. I knew of you thru WBA. I was there for such a short time, before Rosie left. Three artists Amzie, Chaney, And Sam were on my friends list. I added you here because I knew of you from there.*J* Glad to chat from here.

We did mention it once a while back, yes I am from MN, I'm about an hour and a half away from you. I live along the Mississippi river in a dinky little town where the eagles fly high and steal our little fishies from our ponds *grins*. Don't worry, I have an old brain too, I even forget my kids names so I call them by all the names and just rotate them.

Thanks for chatting with with me about your reasons for drawing on 2draw. I TOTALLY AGREE AND UNDERSTAND. ABOUT THE TIME TO COMMENT REPLY ETC. How about bebo do you go there and comment. I love my friends there. Between sketchfu and there it gets hectic. I AM CHEATING MY FAMILY. I have to make changes too. Dillon is getting very insistant of late, about it. He is a velcor boy, and I need to balance that with my computer time. Too many things to do in life. Love to do them all. Time and energy will not allow. Priorities and disipline must be at work in our lives. Not easy when "WHAT I WANT SCREAMS IN MY HEAD" Selfish me! :O Must correct myself!!!! You must do what is right for you. You have been a wonderful friend here to many on SF. I am new to the list, but have enjoyed you up beat personality and support. Thanks for all you have given to the community and me. hey..thanks for the comments!..i am graduated..lol from high school i graduated last school year...im not currently in college i was enrolled for art at a college but found out it wasnt for me...the graduation drawings are of a bear that is on kanye west's new cd case that is what they meant by the cd case comments..lol..ur not lame....wow you have a lot of friends on here! i had to scroll forever to get to the comments secion..lol...i like ur drawings theyre cool...i get criticized for drawing rappers a lot...but the music motivates me but most people just dont understand.

Gillie dear! Thanx for the offer of help at 2Draw, but beyond me being a tech 'tard, the atmosphere there is pretty competitive! I like to keep it simple and just enjoy myself and hang out with friends. I thought your pic of Frankenstein was fabulous and really took offense at comments some of the 2Drawers made about sketchfu; and who was that competitive person passing judgment on your Frankie?! Yeah, there are problems here, but the community is great, and the program is easy to use .. when it works (!). Guess I'll stick with being a FUer, and just visit you guys over at 2Draw ... don't want to lose touch with my terrific friends! HUGS.

We have a weekend house on Galveston Island, 1hr 15 mins door to door. We go most weekends year round as the weather is not cold here except in January. Today I was on the beach in a teeshirt and flip flops! So I will never catch up here cuz I am gone from Part of Fri til Sunday evening!! I need a laptop!!! *hugs*
