/The Fool/, in his wide-eyed innocence, meets /The Magician/, brilliant and charismatic, enlightening him with choices.

With skills and ideas attained from /The Magician/, he asks /The Priestess/, wise and knowledgeable, with what he should do.

/The Priestess/ enlightening him of all his secret doubts, he comes upon /The Empress/, patient and understanding, caring for him as a mother would.
IV
/The Empress/ has taught him to develop what he has; he is then acquainted to her male counterpart, /The Emperor/, powerful and obeyed by all; he asks him how that was so.
V
Now able to lead on his own, owing to /The Emperor/, he seeks advice from /The Hierophant/, stubborn yet wise, as to how to deal with his worldly problems.
VI
/The Hierophant/'s advice allows him to summon his bravery to face his trials again, and as he continues upon his journey, he experiences /The Lovers/ relationship.

The importance of choosing his social links fresh in his mind having been established by /The Lovers/, he drives /The Chariot/, harmonious and victorious, with confidence, however short it may be.

Having /The Chariot/'s wheels broken, he relies on /Justice/, fair and mighty, to steady him.
IX
/Justice/ opening his eyes to the truth, he becomes /The Hermit/, unsociable and self-introspecting, and recoils into himself to search for his own hidden truth.

As /The Hermit/, he has found himself; now seeing everything in a new light. He leaves his fate to the /Wheel of Fortune/, ever spinning and ever changing.

The /Wheel of Fortune/, by luck, grants him inner /Strength/ and undaunted energy, to control himself.

His /Strength/ however, gives way to the self-sacrificing /Hanged Man/; suspending and meditating, wishing to see the light at the end of the dark tunnel he is in.

Recognising his inability to do anything, he, as the /Hanged Man/, awaits spiritual /Death/.

But not all ends with /Death/; he experiences mental renewal, and sees another world around him, this new view gives him /Temperance/, the balancing and moderating, the harmony of two opposites, life to death, passive to aggressive.

/Temperance/, his balance, is broken by /The Devil/'s temptations; raw desire overflows within him.

/The Devil/, he understands, is often misunderstood; he is powerful, but only brings out such natural wants. However, it has made him vulnerable to arrogance, and he is struck down like lightning as if he was /The Tower/.

/The Tower/'s striking down makes him lose faith, until /The Star/, peaceful and beautiful, offers upon him help.
XVIII
As /The Star/ refreshes his mind and body, /The Moon/, dreamy and sleepy, grants him creativity, but misguides him with illusions.

The twisted realities of /The Moon/ scares him; /The Sun/, always youthful and forever clear, lights his life and allows him to enjoy life.

After enjoying life under /The Sun/, he waits for his day of /Judgement/; he recognises his past and accepts it.

/Judgement/ arriving, he acknowledges the fullness, the completeness- the wholeness that is /The World/.
XXII
After the realisation of /The World/, he returns to a simpler spirit; he reverts into the spiritual state of /The Fool/, and he sets off towards greater understanding once again.
