Oak padded through the forest. 'I have to make it!' The thought bounded back and forth between his head. 'I have to!' Seeing a small, dirty puddle, he quickly stopped for a long drink. Despite how thirsty he was, he forced himself to keep moving. Oak got up slowly. The water dripped from his whiskers. He got slower with each paw step, his train of thought blurred as he wobbled dizzily around. 'No...I must make it to...Make it to...Mystery....' Oak gasped for air. What was happening to him? Was it the puddle? Oak coughed and coughed. Blood poured out of his mouth. He kept moving, until a sudden stop. Oak collapsed to the ground. "The puddle," He coughed. "Had poison in it..." He got up weakly. His legs trembled. 'Almost there,' He thought. As he padded out of the brush, he walked weakly to a young She-cat. The she-cat gazed at him. "Oak!" She called desperately as she ran over to the brute. Catching him barely he chuckled weakly. "It should be me catching you, not the other way around." He smiled. "Oak...Did you come out all the way to see me?" The she-cat smiled. "Yes of course Mystery, I love you." She was now crouching down with him resting his head on her soft pelt. Mystery purred with delight. Suddenly Oak coughed and he gazed towards the sky. His eyes milky. "Oak!" She called. "Oak!" She yowled. A soft breeze ruffled around her. 'I will always be with you' It promised. She knew it was Oak.
