I'm not entirely sure what you mean? For shading, I almost entirely rely on the opacity tool - use only one color but with a very low opacity, then slightly increase opacity, and so on...

How do you do that? I mean overlapping the color but its like shadowing how do you do it? I can't do it pleaz tell me how :(
