What fine work! Wish I understood the elements of painting, underpainting, perspective like this. Now, I remember canoeing at camp in a serene beautiful spot like thisin the early am, and thanks for reminding me!
Well, pausing here to phrase this right. This drawing/painting moves me Jill. Sometimes a piece of art will do that. Most times the viewer does not even know why. I can artistically and logically dissect its good points but how it makes me FEEL has nothing to do with that. Maybe it is the love and reverence you hold for this place that shines thru. I find it incredibly beautiful, delicate, sweet and innocent, like the dawn of time, everything fresh and unspoiled. It is gorgeous in thumbnail too. Of course, another of it's attributes is the incredible lady it is for *big grin*..she is pretty special and she encouraged me too thru the years. Tho I must admit, I used to yell at her until she agreed to start calling herself an artist *L* The drawing and the friendships, all of it is so good. I am lucky to know you both!
