When I was your age I though parents were mean. Now I am a parent I see what my own parents were talking about. You know what? For the most part, they were right.
Don't be too hard on yourself or your parents. You only have one set of parents so enjoy them as best you can.
The more you talk to them in a responsible manner, the more they will respond to you in a positive manner.
Trust me, it works. ;-)

One day, when you have kids of your own, you will say or do something and say 'OMG! I sound just like my mum/dad!'. Hehe.
