Hi Dogskull, my friend, thanks very much for your kind words. I have noticed that many of the longtime SF'ers have slowed down quite a bit and some have even quit coming here all together. Its sad to see that but, I'm sure they all have legitimate reasons. Myself included, I find it harder to devote more time to this site simply due to time restraints with my personal life. And as you probably know, in order to produce any art, one needs these elements to come together simulaneously: time, means (tools, money, paints, etc.) and most importantly, the inspiration. I am plenty inspired by artists such as yourself and many others here on SF. Its just that sometimes when I log in, there are soooo many messages and new drawings to go through, view, comment and cheer on that by the time I get around to trying to draw, the momentum is lost. Anyway....enough negative talk; I'll be publishing some more stuff soon. The Goat Club is coming along nicely and were only a handful of artists away from my pitch to the Guinness people. Really, that will be something if we can all get recognition for our goat drawings!!! Keep drawing, my friend. I'd love to see more portrait drawings from you. We all had to start somewhere and really, what better place??? You never have to feel like you wasted time because I believe the community here is very supportive and want nothing better than to see each other's progress :). You do draw some mean sci-fi stuff; it wouldn't be such a far jump to see you incorporate some space stuff into your portraits either. That would really be cool, I think. I'm always here; maybe not drawing but always in the 'art' mode. Thanks again!!! BTW...what is your name? I know your parents didn't name you Dogskull...lol.
Hi! dogskull, funny to me on a drawing.Thank you so much for this. My hairs in real life are dark blond ;) but in the past, I already had the hair red, similar to those of your drawing. My eyes are green like that just a bit more darker.I did'nt realize on my picture it is hard to see my hairs and eyes color ;). You did a good job on the portrait. Thank you so much, cause I look more younger lol ;D
Very good!
I wish I could give you tips, but... it wouldn't really be my place, seeing as I'm a manga artist, not a realism kind of person.
BUUUUUUUT!
It's still awesome! I wish I could do realism... starting to attempt it in real life... *grumbles* But still, I say again, nice work! =3
This is not bad at all considering you're relatively new to drawing portraits. I think you might have had a easier go at this if Lilly's reference picture was a little more clear and defined. But of course you're entitled to exercise some 'artistic license' and took liberties with the true tones of her hair, eyes, skin, etc.; which is OK because its all about creating art or something which never existed before. And for that you deserve lots of credit. I think the best advise I can give you is to keep doing it. Like anything that is worth anything, the more time and energy you invest, the rewards will be that much more substantial.
She will love this! You really captured her sweet being. but...is she a redhead? I have been her friend for ages and didn't know that!! Cuz u know i am too.
This is the best i can currently do with portraits. I want to thank Lilly for letting me use her as a reference. As you can see my skills are somewhat lacking in this department of art but i hope to improve with practice... :) I couldn't tell from Lilly's avatar what color her hair was let alone what color her eyes are either so I took the liberty of of uhmm.. - filling in the blanks ..lol - :) Again my thanks to Lilly_2006 ... :)
