“I don’t care what you have to tell your brother, I have to see you tonight. Now!”
“Listen, you owe me. I”ve been carrying you and your brother for over two years. What would your mom and dad say if they knew you didn’t have a real job?”
“What would your sister say if she knew your so-called ‘investments’ were worthless? Without me you’d be back home sharing a bedroom with your brother, sleeping in a single bed and your mom waking you up for breakfast.”
“But, no. Instead you and your brother enjoy the high life. You go out to the clubs every night, drive smokin’ wheels, have plenty of money, meet beautiful women.”
“I’m wasting my time. Meet me at that little dive across the river in an hour. And come alone.”
Tripp disconnects, then quickly redials the phone.
He takes a deep breath and says “Hi, honey. Yeah, I know, this is the third time this week I’m staying late. I’m really sorry. Bad news. It’s going to be a couple more hours. If it gets too late I may just stay in the city tonight. I’ll let you know.”
Then he lowers his voice and says in his most sultry tone….
