PS I love jazz music!! Our school (middle school) has a Band class, 6th grade can't be in it, but 7 and 8th can. Me and one of my best friends have decided we want to play the saxophone next year!!!<3

So this is still a work in progress, but its supposed to look like the incredible jazz band leader known as Duke Ellington. I'm in my school's jazz band, so naturally, I love this guy and his music. Every year, in New York City, there's a festival held in his honor, called the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival. Its the biggest festival in the US, if not the world. High School bands are featured in the festival. They compete for first place, and the title of best band in the US (for a year). For bands, getting into this festival is rather difficult. There are only 15 spots available, and hundreds of bands audition. Last year, my high school's jazz band came somewhere in the 16-20 range, which is good, but not good enough to qualify. So we decided to audition again this year.

We. Got. In.

Out of hundreds of bands that auditioned, we got one of the 15 spots.
Which means I get to go to New York with my friends in Jazz Band. And meet famous jazz musicians.

I've never been to New York before.
I'm so happy right now you guys. I just wanted to share my happy moment with you. <3
