They creeped me out and they still do. They reminded me of picking poisonous flowers in this field full of tractors and things kind of to the left of our walmart...

I had to tell my daughter that there was nothing special to the ones they were mass marketing. Only the handmade ones were worth having, and no one was going to get one of those anytime soon. She endured 'all' the girls in her school having one and taking them to school.. Later she was happy not to have one. I ended up getting her a Cabbage Patch Cat out of guilt. The hype even got to me, eventually... ugh.
I had one of these for Christmas when I was young, a red head called Vicky Louise. I can remember "adopting" her by raising my right and reading off the card that came in the packaging! lol
I even received Birthday cards for her for a few years.
I secretly thought they were the ugliest dolls ever, but my mum was so proud to get me one I never said it out loud! =0)

One of our family friends, now grown daughter, was called her little cabbage patch doll. She just looked so much like this....lol.
