thanks all- yes it feels like a "felt pen" drawing when Im doing it.I sometimes draw life drawings like this, its a different style- at least this wont fade!

I was going to comment to the same effect as gerbear. I thought the black lines looked to be pen and ink and the rest of it watercolor...but since the brushstrokes are more uniform in width, I have to say it looks to be more like felt pen. Its a nice, soft, loose piece and also think its cool that the subject is anonymous so there is no expectation from the viewer to want to 'compare' it to a real known person. Very nice work!

Looks like the kind of guy you'd meet at the bookstore, and might share a cup of coffee with. But you never know with those bookish types ... watch out!
