Alright, so first of all, I recommend looking at some of these to familiarize yourself with feline anatomy: http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=cat+tutorial

Get used to the way cats look. Try tracing them. Tracing is a great way to familiarize yourself with the basic way something looks.

Other than that, just keep practicing. If you do that, you'll eventually improve. ^^
