Vocaloid itself isn't anime. But the characters are. The style they're made in is, indeed, anime. So, yeah, Vocaloid should, and is, considered anime.

Kid: There's alot of pics in this group that aren't anime, but I consider Vocaloid to be anime-ish, as their designs were intentionally made to look like anime characters (and thus become extremely popular, even though they're just avatars of a computer program).

Of course, now there's a couple of manga floating about, so, yeah, it's anime. XP
