Bunny looks both hesitant and intense. Perhaps he is the learn-ed Hare, reflecting on his fast-paced life, with a vision before he puts his paw to the typewriter. He sees his friend and teacher the Turtle, with his minds eye, behind him in the room. Turtle gave Hare's imagination vocabulary and structure, rhythm and pace, and most of all love that still lives, though Turtle does not.
