Your astonishing rendering puts my mind back to an article I read several weeks ago about Harry Patch. A WW1 veteran who just recently died at 109. What I read was in his own words, and it was horrifying to even think what humans will do.
His wasn't the only testimony on the site. I read all of them. Just young boys in the trenches... Wish I could call it inhuman, but, it is us doing these horrendous things to each other... ={
