thanks all- it truly did glow- I was sat in my living room on the other side of the hill and I saw the light change- so I jumped in my car and drove over to the other side- the valley bottom was shrouded in a hazy blue mist and the sky glowed. I took photos ( on a film camera) then I went to the shop- when I came out there was a blood red strip of light at the horizon- may try and draw it too!
