lol- I have probably eaten about 30 in my whole life so i reckon Inm OK... If you get a chance have a go at making one though...lol- I have to say dark sweet sherry is much better than pale dry- and dont drive afterwards

Uh-oh Christine! Don't eat the silver sugar balls!
They now list them in the US as decorative only because of the actual silver used in those can build up in your system and cause problems down the road. You can't buy them at all anymore in California. They've even barred all pastry buisnesses from using them in the goods they sell, as well as the gold and copper ones.

I used to eat them all the time, but, when I had to read up years ago on foods my kid couldn't have because of wheat, yes they also contain wheat, I learned about the perils of the silver "dragees". Silver is a slow acting toxin. Most people eat just a little and the normal body will eventually purge itself of the toxins. But, for kids like mine who retain too much metals already, it's a serious no-no.

Okay, enough lecturing.....lol. The draw looks super and the recipe has me drooling!

Oh wow!!! It looks and sounds fantastic!! I never had it and don't have a clue what blancmange is!!! But the whole thing sounds completely delicious and a good reason to visit your fine country *G*
