LOL...they still have pie birds. I remember them from long ago. I think we need one here. My husband always bakes four pies for thanksgiving and the oven was an utterly crude overflow of juices mess this year. Who know the pie bird would do the trick. I always thought they were just for decoration (From Blackbird pies or something, duh)

Well Suntan, I am not a baker by choice. My kid has problems with wheat/gluten, so I sometimes have to bake bread, cakes, cookies, brownies, etc., anything that I can't buy pre-made or haven't had the chance to pick up at the health food store 45 minutes away....ugh!

What aakyra?! Oh, I did try it out as a thread dispenser.....doesn't work. It's just a tad too skinny for the thread ball. Rats! Now I have to find my needle-nose pliers to yank it out!.....rofl!

That means I either have to learn to bake pies, or, put it on a shelf for decoration. Let's seee....I've NEVER made a pie from scratch so I guess it's obvious which function this pretty bird gets....lol.

lol..I actually have a pie bird! A friend went crazy one time with her pottery/kiln and made ..ummm...hundreds! None of her friends knew what it was either, but it does look very cute, even if you're like me, not a baker! ;P
