I was thinking about something, would it be nice if we had a space for "artist's comment" here, or a "description", under the painting?
What are the chances that the person would scroll all the way down to the very bottom to see what the artist wants to say about his drawing, if he had to say any. Before, we managed to write this in the first comment which was right below the canvas. But now the first comment is at the very bottom!! :/ Well, I know this is off-topic, but I just wanted to get this out.
The words you said down there are very true! Beautiful painting, Mary!!
Lovely draw and very true words my sweet friend.
As an art teacher I hear it all. And it is fear as Miss A. said
that keeps people from trying. Fear and the misconception that art is only
available to ones life if they are born with the "talent".
I advertise my classes as being able to teach anyone to draw and i can and have proved that over the last 19 yrs. My drawing students ranged in age from 10 to in the 80's. And they all learned something and they ALL saw the world in a different light once I had taught them to see.
I consider being able to "see" a true gift, a spiritual thing and I guess I want to convert the world. Teach them all to see the wonder that is existence on this beautiful blue ball.
Welcome back and hope you had a super Christmas!! *gbear hug*
Good goin' girl-child! Lovely words and super draw!
You are are so talented, bright, and have a tremendous heart! Kudos to you and the ones that made ya'!
Oh, and I used to use the stick figure excuse, so maybe some of them out there are still like I used to be until recently, just afraid of failure or afraid their art won't be as good as someone else's so they quit trying.
I'm just glad I found sketchfu and wonderful FU friends like you to help prove it otherwise.
Hugs!
P.S. Meno is right! I find myself looking at things all the time now and thinking, "Gee, that's neat or pretty. So how would I draw that?"....lol.
Hi, Luthien! I noticed that since I found sketchfu, I DO look at everything differently .... the colors, light and shadow, shapes ... everything is a potential draw!
