Hi there. First off, I'll be the first to say welcome to Sketchfu and thank you for your cheer and comment! :D Yes, there is a way to do straight lines. You make a right click and then move your mouse to whichever spot you want the line to end and do a left click. :)

straight lines- you sort of click your left maouse button and then quickly your right mouse button... almost at the same time, then move the mouse to where you want the line to go to and click left again- a straight line should appear,, watch out as a dialog box appears as you do it and you can also zoom in and out if you are not drawing a line- hope this helps..
